I will start this blog with a question: Which was the most significant decision that you made in life?
Was it to buy a car? To married your spouse? To have a child? Please, I would love to hear from you. Write down in the comment and let me know.
Everyday Choices
Decisions are part of everyday life for every one of us. Whether we are aware of them or not, we make them daily. Some of them are simple; some of them we have to consider carefully.
Not every decision has the same weight. For example, I can eat for breakfast the first thing that I find in the fridge, put the clothes that I first see in the closet, and walk out.
But, for someone who has to take care of his health, he can't just take what he wants for breakfast. Perhaps he will have to take medicine before breakfast, or carefully choose his meal due to medical restrictions.
Or woman probably won't wear the first thing she looks at. She will take more time to consider what to wear, look in the mirror, maybe even change her decision more than once.
Take Action
So you see, decisions are part of our life; they define us.
But one thing that we all have to face is something that can make a difference between success and failure, and that is indecisiveness.
An indecisive person hesitates and losing precious time and opportunities.
Take a car driver as an example. A truck is driving slowly in front of him. He decides it is time to pass him. And while he is passing, a car from opposite direction approaches. He now faces two options:
- speed up
- brake and return to his lane

If he is indecisive, questioning should he continue or fall back, the outcome is inevitable: crash the car with possibly fatal consequences.
In life, if a person hesitates to make a decision, time will pass by, and so will the opportunity. More important, it could lead to even worse circumstances.
Fear of Unknown
When facing a new decision, each person faces a fear: a fear of something new. That is because our brain steps in and tries to protect us from the unknown.
Our brain can't predict the outcome and sends a stress signal which triggers the indecisions.
The more we hesitate, the harder it becomes to make a move. Eventually, we back off and miss the opportunity.
But, what exactly are you expecting from yourself when facing new or unknown decisions?
Do you expect to be perfect? To be the person that will make a perfect decision?
In most cases, this will hardly be the case. Keep in mind that there can be more than one correct solution to choose from. The point is to take action, not to let fear paralyze you and become indecisive.
You don't need a PERFECT decision. You need the RIGHT one!
The decision to join Wealthy Affiliate is undoubtedly the right one. The decision to become a premium member is also the right one.
Was it the perfect one? I don't know; it depends on your situation and your plans for the future.
Decisions You Should Avoid
Sometimes, we are not good at deciding for our self. But, we are good at making a decision for others.
It is easier to judge others than look at yourself, right? But should I really be the person that will make decisions for others? Even if it is honest and in the best interest for someone?
When you make a decision instead of others, you deny them the opportunity to grow and to learn.
Build a House
So, which was the most significant decision that you made in life? Remember, a decision is valid when it is good, not because it was made!
Your most significant decision should be like a house and every other decision like bricks. Every other decision that you make should fulfill the most important one. Otherwise, you still haven't made the one that is most important to you.
Don't let others tell you what to do. Listen to advice, but decide for yourself. And whichever road you take, choose it smart, because indecisiveness is the worst choice you can make.
