I'm Happy Because I'm Thankful
I've been thinking about how happiness has a connection to gratitude, and I found that there is a direct link between the two. There has been scientific study and research that confirms the link.
I am reminded daily to show gratitude for everything I have in my life and for all that is coming into my life. I feel a wave of inner peace and a sense of happiness when I think of simple gratitude and why I have to be thankful.
I like to journal my many reasons to be thankful each day, and I'd like to share a few in this post.
- My writing ability is one of the many skills I am thankful for today and every day.
- My youthfulness is yet another reason I have to be thankful. I look younger than my age, which I take pride in having.
- My true friends are one of the many reasons I smile daily now because they're genuine and honest.
- My financial well-being is something I am grateful for, especially when I think of how I used to do without things that I now can have. I can buy my friends gifts in return for the gifts they give me, and that makes me feel better about myself because I don't like not being able to give my friends something when holidays come around. Now, I feel better when it comes to gift-giving, and my friends are happy, too.
- I am pleased and thankful for my ability to articulate myself better than before. There was a time I was suffering from a thyroid issue, and I reversed the problem by intermittent fasting and taking synthetic thyroid meds for a short time. I had difficulties with my ability to communicate effectively during that time; however, since I have become more health-conscious and now take vitamins and supplements plus watch my diet, I have found myself with clearer thinking and improved communication.
- I am thankful for my creative flow, as there was a time I suffered from writer's block. Around the time I was suffering from the thyroid issue, my creative juices were also blocked, and I felt stuck with the lack of motivation to write or speak much at all. I was depressed, to say the least.
- Love in my life. One of the main areas I am happiest and most thankful for is the love I have for life and the love in my life. I love romance, and all the types of love, such as eros, agape, philia, and storge. I'm very fortunate to have those four types of love in my life. I have learned that it's best to be kind, honest, humble, and grateful when it comes to love, which means all types of love - not only the romantic type. I think it generates even more love into your life and your brightness shines forth. More people will gravitate toward you when they see your genuine smile and feel the warmth from your heart chakra. Opening your heart to love, acceptance, and all the glorious things that life offers is a beautiful experience I repeatedly enjoy.
In closing, I'd like to remind you to be thankful for all the beauty within your own life and let yourself feel the blessings raining down upon you. I am grateful to each reader and those who decide to comment on this post today. You have made my day brighter and have given me a reason to continue to express love and gratitude. I thank you, namaste!

You've nailed the secret to happiness, Crystal - Through gratitude.
Nothing is more powerful. When we b are grateful, it opens up diverse parts of our being.
Our heart opens up to all the possibilities the Universe offers.
Our mind opens up to understanding our true authentic self.
Our intuitive self awakens to know the path forward.
Our throat opens up to speak our truth.
Thank You, Crystal, for eloquently sharing your journal entries and thoughts. As I've said a few times already: You're an asset to the group, and to this realm.
The funny thing is that I know you're just getting warmed up!
Keep the fire stoked!

Another fantastically written and interesting piece Crystal..
Being thankful for all we have goes hand in hand with being happy in our lives in my opinion!
There may be many who are better off financially (are they always happy?)
And many who are not, but are happy and appreciate what they have..
I find that being thankful for what we have in live is indeed the root of all happiness!
Have a fantastic day my friend!:-)
Thank you, and I agree wholeheartedly. Have a great weekend.
You're very welcome Crystal and have a fabulous weekend yourself!:-)
