("I wonder how many friends will make it all the way to the song at the end...?")

The US Publisher, Ward's, estimates that as of 2010 there were 1.015 billion motor vehicles in the world. This figure represents cars, light, medium and heavy duty trucks, and buses, but does not include off-road vehicles or heavy construction equipment.

More recent studies by Navigant Research estimates that vehicles we drive everyday will soon bypass 1.2 billion!

With so many people on the planet driving, you would think walking is becoming a forgotten art.

Not so fast, my friends!

Walking is still alive and well!

You can't beat holding hands and walking with a friend...

You can even walk ON your hands!

Explore the countryside!

Even the invisible man enjoyed walking...

Of course, animals can't drive, so, naturally, they walk. Camels can go miles through the desert, with no water! In fact, during winters in the Sahara Desert, camels have survived 6 or 7 months without drinking!

Gorilla walkin'...

Some cats walk like humans!

Dogs, too!

There's something about walking!

It just makes you feel good!

"I don't know, but I've been told,

Vera's got a heart of gold...

Count off...1,2...

Count off...3,4,1,2...3,4!"

"I'm walkin' in my room..." (to the tune of the 1961 Del Shannon hit song, "Runaway.")

Actual photo of a guy walking in an alternate universe.

Moon walk...

The original moon walk, ala The King of Pop, Michael Jackson...

Or maybe this was the original Moon walk, when Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the Moon, July 20, 1969.

Walking by the seashore...

Trudging through the snow (I've done my share of that!)

Walkin' the dog...

"Walkin' about, with my head in the clouds..."

"Walk like a man, walk like a man,

Walk like a man, my son..." (The Four Seasons, 1963)

"Blue, blue, my world is blue,

Blue is my world, now I'm without you..." (#1 instrumental song for Paul Mauriat in 1968)

Me and mini-me, as babies... (I know...it's a little weird!)

Walkin' in flip-flops. (The modern flip-flop dates to World War II, when returning soldiers brought back the Japanese zori to the US. They soon became popular and begn to be produced in the States.)

Truckin' with a pink ball...kinda defies the laws of physics, doesn't it?

Walking in place.

"Walk like an Egyptian..."

Bangles style! ("Walk Like An Egyptian," 1986)

Don't walk like a man...Actress Sandra Bullock, struttin' her stuff!

Cartoon tip-toe...

Cartoon walk...

Building speed...

Fast forward...

Walking dead... ("The Walking Dead" one of the most popular series on American television, premiered in 2010.)

"A wiggle and a walk, and a giggle and a talk,"

"Make the world go 'round, 'round, 'round..." ("Chantilly Lace," Big Bopper, 1958)

Speedwalker.

Pink Panther!

Woody, from Toy Story...

"Barefootin'..." (Robert Parker, 1966)

The trouble with heels...

Why do you gals even wear them?

A "walk," in baseball...

Moon walking skeleton.

The Beatles, walking across Abbey Road, 1969. (Note: Despite Sir Paul being barefoot, he was not then, and is not now dead)

Walking at the beach with Mummy

Turtle walk...

The Ministry of Silly Walks...

The "Walk of Shame"

Walking on water...

Walkin' on air...

Genesis ("I Can't Dance," 1991)

Walking "on all fours" (A BBC Two documentary in 2006 explored the story of a family of 5 in Turkey that walk with a previously unknown "quadruped gait")

On tip-toes...

Brady Bunch style ("The Brady Bunch," an American sitcom, ran from 1969-1974)

Walking the runway...

Doin' the "Kramer" ("Seinfeld," 1989-1998)

Like Tim Conway in the clock shop...this guy should've taken the bus!

Probably walking to a "crowbar" for a hot toddy, to get out of the snow!

"Wait up, man, we'll go with you!"

Walking a narrow ledge

So, walk, don't run (and no need to drive!) to your website or that blog you've been working on, and thank your lucky stars that you can work right from your own home sweet home!

We are blessed, indeed!

WALKIN' BACK HOME

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm walkin' back home,

Been all around the world,

I'm all alone,

But, there's one thing I learned,

And I think maybe,

Somewhere along the way,

I'll find you, baby,

Though it may not be today,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm walkin' back home,

It's a long and lonely road,

Far and wide I've roamed,

Carryin' a heavy load,

And I cannot recall

All the tears I cried,

But, I stood tall,

With you by my side,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

And now I'm almost home,

I can see the light,

You're waitin' there for me,

In the dark of night,

Just a few steps more,

And I'll reach out my hand,

Open up the door

To the promised land,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm walkin' back home,

Been all around the world,

I'm all alone,

But, there's one thing I learned,

And I think maybe,

Somewhere along the way,

I'll find you, baby,

Though it may not be today,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,

I'm Walkin', Oh-Oh-Oh,
