When It Rains, It Pours
Hello Wealthy Affiliate Community,
I want to let you know a little about what I have experienced in the last month.
This might be the toughest forty days of my life. It all started in early November when I injured a tendon in my left wrist at work. I have yet to return to work, though I am in process of transitioning back. This has taken a toll on my mental health, and my financial health. It has also added stress to my wife. With regular doctor's visits and calls with worker's compensation, we have still yet to be compensated for my work-related injury. With this being said, I believe God has provided in this time of need. We also have a strong and loving support system, and I'm thankful I can be open to this WA community.
Then the lightning storm came... (Explicit Content Warning-Read at Your Own Risk)
On Wednesday at 10pm I became deathly ill out of nowhere. Let's just say I couldn't keep anything I had consumed in my body. My wife and I thought I just had some food poisoning, so she went to her parent's house to sleep because she had work in the morning (she has an extreme fear of vomiting). Well, it only got worse and what was coming out of me turned bloody. By 5:30am Thursday I had battled enough, so called my wife who rushed me to the emergency room. She felt horrible for leaving me, but I reassured her that we couldn't have known it was more than a stomach bug at that point.
At the hospital I was treated with fluids and all sorts of tests for a little more than two days. I was so dehydrated that they could not find any good veins to run an IV. After being stuck in my right arm, my right hand and my left arm, they finally brought in someone who was able to find a good vein in my left wrist, the same exact spot in which I was injured. Though this seemed like a coincidence at the time, I think it could be a sign that God was watching over me.
Yesterday I was able to return home, and now with all the strength I have, wanted to write this for you all.
I will now:
-eat healthier
-not take life for granted
-work more diligently
-be more thankful of those around me
-be ready to support those in my community who need help
There will be unexpected hard times for most of us. What I love about WA is everyone helps each other; this is why I wanted to share. I encourage you all to pay it forward. I certainly will do better! Thank you for reading this through.

Good to hear you are on the mend Caleb, sometimes it takes a scare like this to realize just how much we take for granted, in particular our health.
Really glad you are feeling better!
Wow, I'm glad God got you through those troubling times, my friend! Best success to you going forward!
Jeff
