From 0 to 284,700 Visits in One Year

So I just got finished reading a training here at Wealthy Affiliate on The Business of Content.

Here's what amazed me...probably because my short term thinking has been on full blast for as long as I can remember.

Committing to just three posts or pages a week....that's it.

Is it possible?

Sure, remember when you started here and set your goals? One of them was how many hours a week can you work?

Even if it was just ten hours, that would give you 3 1/3 hours per post/page a week to research, write and publish.

EASY ENOUGH!

Let's look at the numbers one year from now. Time Travel at it's finest!

3 posts a week x 52 weeks = 156 posts, even if those posts only received 5 visits a day each it totals out to 780 total visits to your blog daily.

One year from now...

  • You're a total expert
  • You get 284,700 visits a year to your blog
  • You earn $$

Sounds good, right?

Here's my case study - a new site, a niche I've never tried before (making money online) all from scratch.

In the month of June I created 8 posts and 2 pages (not counting about, privacy and disclosure)

It's looking very promising, especially with a 50/50 split of new and returning visitors.

That means half of the people that visited my blog in it's first month found it interesting enough to come back for more!

So, my point is this, commit to just 3 posts a week....consistently....no matter what!

Is it bad if most of your visitors are new?

Well I will be damned. . . Just when I wrote this I figured I would add a screenshot and suddenly it's almost an even split, yesterday it was still like 60-70 percent new visitors.

All those return visitors had to be new visitors at some point, right? Besides, Google considers new or unique visitors when tthey place you in the rankings. It's a good thing.

I just figured it might be bad to never have return visitors. Seems like people might not be interested but I'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks for the answer! :)

I'm not saying that you won't have return visitor, just that there's no real reason to get hung up on it. If you write good content that helps them and let them know you will be bringing them more articles, you'll do fine. Have a good evening!

You're quite welcome!

Makes complete sense. You just have to be really committed right!?

Absolutely committed!

Good news Chris . Time to get to writing!

In theory it could be possible in practice it may be harder to achieve, but then never say never.

1

I like the theory lol. No matter what, as long as consistent action is taken, I'm happy if it only gets 25% of 284,700, that would still be enough to possibly convert quite a few visitors into an income opportunity.

great attitude Chris, content, content, content.

From my bad experience I do not think this number of visits is easily achievable, and I have been adding posts every day in the past 7 months. I hope you will be more successful.

1

Maybe not easy, but achievable. Have you went back on the posts you've created over the last 7 months and analyzed?

1

Not sure what to analyze.

1

Maybe look into the posts that aren't getting traffic and link to them from the posts that are getting traffic

2

This is the best possible piece of advice anyone can give. Internal linking is 10000% important.

You might have keywords that are duds or articles no one cares about or sees - and linking back to them from some of your popular articles is going to drive a pretty significant percentage of people back to those "less" popular articles.

Just my $0.02.
