In this class, we're focusing on setting up initial social media profiles to effectively share your website's content. Your brand's identity goes beyond just a logo or tagline; it's what people expect from your brand. We are going to be getting you set-up with the initial platforms that you will be using to get reach with your website content...in other word's, new platforms to SHARE our content to.

Your social media profile acts as your brand's "representative" in the digital world.

First though, the visuals of your profile - your profile picture and cover image - are crucial. They should be of high quality and more importantly, narrate your brand's story. Whether it’s your logo, a standout product, or a snapshot of your team, it should embody your brand's spirit.

For instance, imagine if a well-known brand like Nike used an unrelated image like a blowfish (no idea where I got that from) for their profile. It wouldn’t resonate with their brand identity, right?

Next, your bio is where you state what your brand offers. For example, a "basketball skills" brand might use: 'Helping players achieve basketball excellence through skills and drills." It's essential to include keywords targeting your niche, making your bio both concise and powerful.

Getting your social media profile set up correctly is key. But equally important is where and how you display this profile. Different platforms offer unique features and tools for growth. Through time and as you immerse yourself in social media, you are going to be able to update these profiles (and beautify them). So don't worry about them being perfect at the outset.

Next, let's look at the specific platforms and the INITIAL ones we are going to be focusing on within our business...and where the best value/time trade off is.

Which Social Platforms Should You Use For Growth?

Each social media platform is an ecosystem in its own right, with unique tools specially designed to help your business grow. Utilizing these platform-specific features can be a game changer in how you engage with your audience and how much reach you actually achieve.

Let's explore the different platforms and possibilities...

Facebook. The biggest and most powerful social network. Facebook currently has over 3 billion users, and garners a lot of the high intent customers within the social media world. One of our very first focuses is going to be getting reach within Facebook.

X (Formerly Twitter). Fast paced with lots of engagement, and full of potential. Engage with X Posts for real-time discussions, explore Lists to categorize and follow specific accounts, and don't hesitate to host an X Poll to pick the brains of your followers (as you build a following). As you post, you will also know just how many views your content is getting, which is a really cool component of X.

Pinterest. A visual platform, Pinterest allows you to efficiently share visually appealing content from your posts through Pins (and link to them). It can lead to a lot of immediate traffic and reach, and there are PLENTY of success stories from folks using Pinterest at a high level here within WA.

Instagram. Stories and reels give a raw, unfiltered view to the lives of your brand. This can be a great medium to get incredible viewership and reach, and is a platform that you can approach with time.

LinkedIn. A professional's playground, and audience. Showcase Pages allow your company to highlight different aspects of your business, while relevant groups can be a fruitful ground for networking and engagement. We are also seeing LinkedIn content getting preferred rankings in search engines through recent updates.

Remember, these aren’t the only platforms out there. There are many others, but initially we are going to focus on the most shareable platforms for your website content. These include:

The key here is to understand each platform’s ecosystem's strengths and use them to propel your brand and reach, but to also use them in a way where you are not wasting your entire day.

Initially we are going to be tasking you to share your content, to get additional reach and to work towards building your brand. It can also help with indexing speeds!

Now let's look at some common daily and weekly routines for your social media side management.

Daily and Weekly Routines for Social Media Management

For brands to achieve success on social media it's essential to be consistently active, engaging, and constantly evaluating your strategies. Here are key practices to keep your social media presence effective and growing:

  • Daily Tasks:
    • Community Engagement: Promptly respond to comments, likes, and shares. This builds relationships and increases your overall visibility.
    • Content Creation: Share fresh, high-quality content daily, like posts, stories, or articles, to keep your audience interested.
    • Performance Monitoring: Check your account's analytics frequently (just not too frequently) and make necessary adjustments based on the insights.
  • Weekly Tasks:
    • Share Content: As you create new pages/posts on your website, make sure you are sharing all of your content to your "core" social fees in a relevant way.
    • Content Planning: Prepare next week's content, including posts, images, or micro-blog entries.
    • Analytics Review: Analyze weekly data to understand trends, audience behavior, and content performance, and use these insights to refine your strategy.
    • Network Expansion: Engage with other accounts, join groups or discussions to increase visibility and learn from others.

With your social media profiles now geared for growth and engagement, it's vital to remember that success depends on frequency, engagement and quality of content....which isn't much different than the website content you are building out.
