Today, we're going to move into the exciting world of "generating buzz" with your social media posts. Now that your website content is taking shape, it's time to amplify its reach through social media platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Pinterest, and others.
Tasks for this Lesson:
- Learning how to create captivating social media content
- Share one post to your Facebook Page
- Share one post to your X.com account
- Share one post to your Pinterest.com account
Our focus is to effectively share your website content on various social media platforms to gain additional exposure. This is a quick and efficient way to get your content in front of people's eyes and how to maximize the impact of each post you publish on your website.
So let's get rolling...
Sharing a Post on Social Media
The first step is going to be sharing a post within social media. We'll start with Facebook, where I'll use my 'Skillful Basketball' page as an example.
I copied a URL from a recent website post and share it on the Facebook page, but we want to make the post engaging and appealing. To do this, I can manually write the support content, or you can use GPT for assistance with the process (as I covered in the video).
It's essential to remember that social media is about being social. Merely dropping links isn't enough – you will need to engage your audience. We'll discuss how to create captivating content to accompany your posts.
Posting Across Different Platforms
Once we have a post that we're happy with on our Facebook Page, we are now going to want to replicate the same process within our X.com account along with Pinterest.com.
Here is an example of my X post:
You can see shortly after posting this, I had already received 9 views (as based on the X analytics). Pretty cool right?
And then I went off to Pinterest, and added a "Pin" there to the very same post.
This is something that you will want to do as part of the process for every new post that you add to your website, and you can go back and add any valuable content that you haven't yet added within these platforms (just don't do it all at once, maximum of one per day).
Maximizing Reach and Engagement.
As we have mentioned in earlier classes, the reach and engagement that you get will depend on the quality of the posts and whether or not you are offering valuable discussion to your end users.
The algorithms of platforms like Facebook reward posts with high engagement by giving them more exposure. So as you start to share valuable content it will not only need to that initial traffic boost, it will also lead to lead to potential reach with their feeds (which can snowball traffic).
The key once again is VALUE...a term that you are going to become well acquainted with as you move forward here through the community.
Generating buzz on social media is a critical step in expanding the reach of your brand and content. Use these platforms to get initial reach to each and every post that you publish to your website and over time you are also going to see your brand evolve and incubate.
Here's to creating engaging and effective social media content!
