Writing articles and submitting

Does anyone know what the rule of thumb is for submitting articles? For instance, do I need to write two different articles if I submit to E-zine Articles and street articles or say if I make a page on my website then post an article? Should they vary in content so that they are separate and not duplicating content or does it really matter?

Thanks @Rich

My understanding is that they should be two (or more) separate articles or it will be seen as duplicate content by the search engines. Hope this helps. Richard.

Okay that's what I thought but wasn't for sure if that has changed or not.

Thanks Rich!

You should avoid duplicate content at all costs, it's banned at both Street Articles and here at Wealthy Affiliate anyway, for example. I'd concentrate on your site, rather than article directories, there's little value to backlinking these days. Here's Carson's recent comment on this "Once you have one or two articles on Street Articles (or another directory), focus 100% on your website. You do not need to have a ton of articles these days as your website will rank very well as you begin to publish content on it regularly." :) Rich.

What if i have no articles on Street Articles. Is it impt still to publish there?

Thanks a bunch for that info! I'm good on that then, I have already posted 3 articles with different content and I was going to post more because I was told by an ambassador here that about 190 posts would get you earning a pretty descent income just for one site. One thing I have noticed using E-zine articles is that I usually rank on the front page of google rather quickly with posts from there. It may be the same with street articles as well but I haven't got enough articles out there through them yet to actually see how well you can rank with street articles.

No probs. It's extremely dated info. about publishing large amounts of articles on SA or another article directory, from when backlinks from an authority site to yours were important in the ranking of your own site. It's true that many authority sites like Ezine and SA will rank quickly and well, the click through rate to your own site is often appalling though, at 1-3%. :) Rich.
