Well That Wasn’t Fun! Grrr

So as some of you may already know, I was just about to publish a blog on the community platform when my draft got deleted somehow. All that remained was the cover image and a few tags. It was what I thought was a pretty cool post Halloween blog and yes I did save it ~ a few times.

I thought about rewriting the blog, but I just lost my umph . I took a breather and decided to start anew today and screen shot my blogs going forward until this issue is resolved ~unless of course it was on my end. Have any of you experienced this ?

How do you handle discouragement and frustration? Do you cut your losses and keep going forward? Do you fold ? Do you take it out on others? In my case I feel very discouraged; process what happened; learn from it; and forge ahead!

We win some we lose some as the saying goes. I’d like to hear from you and any tips that may have helped you when things go wrong.

I had a recent episode where content I'd written refused to save properly. Graphics were not saving, just text.

When I edited a long-existing post with graphics, those graphics were stripped from the article when I tried to save it.

I tracked it down to a rogue plug-in that was messing with my theme. Not exactly the same problem as yours, but similar.

Have you checked your plugins? It could be something like that.

Writing off-line is a good suggestion though.

Hope you solve it.

Dave

Thank you for the suggestions Dave. I will look into that. I’m glad you sorted things out and I’ll consider writing off line as well.

I will let Andrej, Chester, and Susan carry the online advice. But, as far as your blog being deleted, what I do to protect myself from that S.N.A.F.U. is that I write it offline first, then post it where I want it. That way I have the original on my computer. You could even take it a step further and back it up on a USB drive and even print it out.

I hope this helps.

JD

That’s a great idea! Thank you

~ Marijana

As to what JD just mentioned I write all my post content in Word then save it on a folder on my computer and once a week or so copy them to an external hard drive for added save keeping.

That way you have your own copy on your computer plus an added backup either the external hard drive or USB as JD pointed out.

Thank you Andre, I have taken note!

We live and learn and another benefit is the support we get here.

Enjoy

Very true, and the support is tremendous

Thank is one thing which is hard to find elsewhere, the true community spirit we have here in WA.

Absolutely! It’s wonderful

Most welcome, Marijana.

JD

It's ok, Marijana. We all have those moments in time and we just have to persevere, learn, and keep moving forward.

Best of luck and wishes to you.

Myra 💜

Thank you Myra, I agree with you. Onward and upward.

We all have those moments from time to time. Just keep learning and pushing forward. Best wishes to you.

Susan

Absolutely Susan, it’s the only way to make positive strides.

Hello Marijana, Well what usually works for me is to try to stick within long enough to fix at least one problem then I take a good little break.

Of course, I usually have about ten issues at once LOL. Ya see I am not very techy.😉

I will tell you though that always try to click on autosave when writing your blogs in the post area,

I have had the same issue that happened to you before when writing in the content area even though I saved each time along the way.

All the best to you on your journey!

Chet

I like your technique Chet. Work on one problem, then have a break. Thank you for your tips!

~ Marijana
