Asking to find out and why should you write one.
I read that from a community members post, which is why I'm asking.

Hi…. Authoritative article posts are all about building trust in you, your brand and your site. If you have direct experience with what you are writing about, the reader will more likely what to stay and read the article and comeback for more as they will feel your experiences may help them more — so they will trust you more, like a trusted friend.

I read recently from one of our highly respected members that it appears Google may not be favoring the longer blog posts as they were before some of their recent updates.

I mention this because I notice that like myself you are somewhat newer here. I think many bloggers are hung up on large word counts and perhaps (at least in the beginning) do themselves a disservice trying to write these super long blog posts.

Each blog post is like a new door for visitors to find your site, so I would suggest that the most authoritative article you can write would be the one that can explain it with the perfect amount of words, whether that be 600 or 2000 or 5000.

I would leave the pillar posts alone as some mention for the time being. Many folks have a short attention span and have no desire to read or sift through super long posts that only briefly may or may not touch on what they are searching for. You can always do internal linking to overlapping areas of interest which will keep folks who are interested in the expanded topic on your site longer.

Hi, Christiana

Write a “Pillar Post,” which centers around one of the most important subjects in your niche.

It is commonly 10,000 to 20,000 words.

Make you headings from Google autosuggest, PAA, or Jaaxy keywords.

Internally link from your pillar post out to informational and review articles you wrote and vice versa.

Thanks Frank, if I may ask is it the same as landing page?

No, it’s typically a post. It’s good to use a table of contents plugin to make it easy for readers to find what they want in an article of that length.

Hi ChristianaOg, The reason we write authoritative articles is so that our audiences can trust us and believe that we know what we are saying. That we become trustworthy in Google so we can rank high and be on page one.

And it helps us to know what we are talking about what we write about. It can be about a passion or something we what to learn about. So that is why we write authoritative articles. It makes us experts on the subject. That is the other reason.

I hope this helps you out

Mary

Thanks Mary, very helpful and clear

Hey ChristianaOg, I am glad that it was helpful to you. And you are very welcome it was my pleasure. I was glad to help you out.

Sorry I don't have a link to it, but it was a post by Partha. You can probably find it with a search.

Basically it said to do a Google Search on your niche's most basic keyword and then use the People Also Ask section as headings for paragraphs.

The suggestion was to do 30 at first, taking maybe a week to do it.

Publish and then add more.

There were some other recommendations as well, but you'd need to read the original article.

My article now has 2 paragraphs and over 12,000 words. It's very easy to just visit it occasionally and add another paragraph.

52 paragraphs, not 2 lol. What an unfortunate typo.

Very interesting. I will look for the original article to read through it.
Thanks for the quick response Phil

You're welcome, Christiana.

Hah hah. I was thinking when I read that you held the record for longest ever blog paragraphs.

The blog post itself is long, but not the paragraphs. Some are longer than others, but all of them wrap completely around the illustrations. I just think it looks better.
