You might have seen this little acronym floating around lately -- possibly folded in with the suggestion that PTO will be replacing SEO...and you need to find out how to get ahead of your competition RIGHT NOW BEFORE ITS TOO LATE..and so forth.
K, so what is PTO?
It stands for People and Traffic Optimization -- as opposed to SEO which stands for Search Engine Optimization.
But all it really means is that you can get traffic by actively engaging on the social networks -- pinterest, facebook, and forums; and that your credibility, authority and trustworthiness in a certain niche will pay off because people will be willing to engage with you and your product. In a perfect word this eventually will lead to a higher pagerank.
Yes. That's all it means.
DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY to find out from some marketer what it is and what to do about it. You are already doing it. You don't need a course in this, or really to worry about it too much if you're working all the best practices you're learning about here.
