Oldest Profession Update

A doctor, lawyer, engineer and a teacher were having lunch when the question was proposed. What is the oldest profession? The waiter overheard and said Prostitution is the oldest profession, every one knows that. Teacher turned to the waiter and stated that maybe true but we need a guidepost to go by. The waiter responded isn’t that in the bible?

The teacher looked around the table and asked if they should use the bible as a guidepost.

They all agreed. The teacher said if we use just the Garden of Eden to go by. We also have tailoring they made clothes out of fig leaves. God also taught them.

The doctor turned and said there was marriage and don’t forget Medicine – actually surgery.

The engineer jumps in and said don’t forget gardening and of course there is engineering God created the heavens and the earth. That is a marvel of engineering. He then turned to the lawyer and said that it was to bad that lawyers aren’t talked about until the New Testament.

The lawyer smiled and said with a sheepish grin on his face true unless you read the rest of verse 1 of Genesis where it said God created everything out of chaos. We were there first.
