My Niche Is Too Wide - Time To Start Over
I have come to the conclusion that my niche is too broad and needs to be narrowed down. Health and lifestyle involve such a large amount of aspect, and this complicates things a bit.
I also received feedback from Kyle that this is an all too broad niche, when I asked for his opinion. My motivation is a bit at the bottom, because I have already written a number of articles that have been indexed on google and which I have received very good feedback on. What about these articles?
Well, I guess it's time to start over in a whole new niche ... I may continue to post articles on my first website as well, because I have so many good ideas and topics I'm passionate about. I've grown so fond of my site, and it's so sad I can't continue the way I had in mind.
I know I'm not alone in experiencing this here at WA, because I've read blogs from other members with the same issue. Here at WA you get to learn so much from other people's experiences, and that's what I love about this community.
Sometimes you stumble and fall. Then you get up, brush off the dirt and move on - I intend to do just that now. Stay positive, and your goals will be achieved.

Hi Cathy, it is what you think works best for you. My niche is in health, and yes it maybe considered too broad. I do think both health and lifestyle compliment one an other.
I feel I am running out ou topics regarding health as a whole. There are so many branches to the health niche.

Exactly. I see now, after some active months here at WA, what I'm most interested in as I write content to my site. So I'll probably try to narrow it down to that.
This process will probably take some time, but at least I have a good foundation to build my new niche on :-)

Hi Cathy! I think you can still save your website! I wouldn't just start from scratch again (considering all the efforts you already put into it). From my short experience so far, it can take quite some time for even a really well done site to gain trust and popularity. I think people also tend to see some breakthrough around the 3-5 month mark? (I still have yet to see that breakthrough for my site so perhaps more time)
It seems like for websites to be successful these days, there needs to be a regular 2-3 posts (1 at the minimum) per week with regular interaction with followers through comments. I am sure you did A LOT of that up to this point.
Something you can probably try is going back to all your posts and giving it more specificity by editing them and trying to hone in on a more narrow niche. At the same time, you don't want to be too narrow of a niche in case of a day where you run out of ideas to create for posts. Once you start to get a better idea of the direction you want to go for your niche, you'll notice articles that might not fit. Don't delete those just yet but perhaps save it for a new niche website further down the line or perhaps you can create different "departments" within your site (like how stores typically have different departments - food, clothing, electronics, etc).

Yes, I will definitely keep my website. I have become too fond of it to get rid of it ;-)
I will use the articles from my page that are relevant to the new niche (which is one of the branch niches in health and lifestyle) at my new site.
