What Motivates You?

Do you find it difficult to stay on task with your goals? It can be easy to get sidetracked by things that won't help us achieve the things we set out to do. Like posting on social media for business, but then spending the next hour or two scrolling through friends posts. It can get easy to get sucked into the social media vortex. As useful a tool as it can be, it can also be a time-waster. Or if you're having a day where it feels like nothing is going right and people aren't reading your content or clicking your links, it can be tempting to throw in the towel and say this isn't for me.

So, how do you stay on track? It's important to remember your 'why'. What is the reason you made your goal to begin with? Is it the dream of freedom and being free from financial burdens? Is it to give your kids a better life, something you maybe didn't have growing up?

The latter is a big one for me. Growing up my family was always struggling to make ends meet. There were so many things I wasn't able to participate in because money was too tight. I didn't want to tell my friends that we didn't have money so I'd often make up excuses to get out of something.

Now that I have kids of my own, I find that we are often in the same struggle. My husband and I decided that I should stay home to raise our kids after our youngest turned two. I'm so very thankful we made that decision, even though living off one income in this economy is tough. Those years go by so quickly and I'll never get them back.

As we have been in some financial struggles lately, it really motivates me to succeed. I want more than anything to give my kids a good life and to travel more as a family. So I will use these tough times to remind myself to KEEP GOING and not give up.

I know success will come in time with dedication and hard work. If you have been in some struggles lately, just remind yourself of your WHY and don't quit.
