It is and will ALWAYS be very humbling to hear people being open and straight forward about their appreciation they have for what this platform is all about (business owners helping other business owners) and what it provides for them (training and advice to advance their business to the next level). I too am very appreciative of what it has provided for me and my business in the past year.

I am not the only experienced or knowledgeable member in the ranks of WA that is for sure; there are many here with much more experience and knowledge than what I have.

I too, am grateful for those that are willing to pass on their knowledge they have gathered over the years to the rest of us for free. Goes to shows you that in this day and age there are still those that truly care about others and their well-being personally, financially, and business wise!!

However, some are so busy with their own businesses that they do not have the time to offer help to others. Then there are those that simply will not assist others. I am sure they have their personal reasons and some might be of fear of the competition they may create for themselves (who knows for sure).

FROM THE BEGINNING

I had such a rough time when I first started in online marketing that I do not wish that on anyone: it was horrific. This is why I am so willing to offer help to others as they are starting this great venture of global presences on the internet. It can be very intimating, frustrating, and costly if you are not guided by someone that has been there or lived through what you are trying to achieve.

Additionally, I for one know what a true mentor is and what they can help you succeed in doing. But at the same time, we also must be prepared to have to learn on our own and not rely solely on our mentors and coaches. Because if you truly want to advance and excel above the norm; you must learn to learn how to teach yourself on your own. All successful individuals that learn to do this have skyrocketed into a lifestyle of living that others can only image to what it must be like.

WHAT IS SUCCESS? REALLY!

Success is what each of us think it is: many believe it is only achieved with money and not wealth. I on the other hand believe you can truly achieve wealth without having a suitcase full of money, and while excess money is nice to have from time to time that is not wealth. Therefore, cash can or is related to success, but it does not define success in my book.

Wealth to me is the ability to live comfortably without having to worry about cash to pay the bills, provide a roof over my head, or were my next meal is coming from. Equally important, Success is not so much as my wealth but what I have forced myself to become over the years of personal development and the goals I have achieved along the way.

I think that Steve Jobs was one of the most successful people that I have ever meet, even though my encounter with Steve was very brief as we passed each other in a hall way full of convention members and others that wanted to ask him what they felt were very important questions for running a successful business.

His great success, to me, was so closely linked to his ability to become so passionate about a project that it actually became an obsession and over took him in his daily tasks.

Here is a screenshot form dictionary.com and how they define Success:

GOALS

As Jim would often tell me in some of our conversations together on the phone:

“In goal setting it is not what you what to achieve that matters, it is what you are forced to become or learn to achieve the goal is what really matters the most.”

You set out goals not so much as to the accomplishment of the goal itself; but rather what you have to learn and become to be able to achieve that goal. Equally important, in most cases this can be and is both self-motivating and inspirational at the same time, within our accomplishments toward our goals. Building and adding to your personal development is always a good thing and does not necessarily mean you are going to gain large amounts of cash along all the steps of your journey.

I think maybe that, Elaine Welteroth a 30-year-old New York Times best-selling author, summed it up pretty good when she said: “It’s important that you ask yourself, if you don’t already know the answer, ‘What makes me feel alive?’ and ‘How can I reorient my life to be able to do more of that every single day?’. Because I guarantee you that it will result in success”. Passion is what leads us to success, and success builds our passion for something more and more.

But this goes without saying, that just passion alone will not lead us to success, we must learn valuable lessons along our journey. Otherwise, our success will become useless to us later on in life as we begin to climb the ladder of popularity and wisdom simultaneously with furthered education and growth from within.

YOUR IMPUT PLEASE

So how do I define success: I think it is the ability to have a very healthy open-minded mind set toward life and business: while maintaining and establishing respect with in your chosen career; and lastly surrounding yourself with people you admire, value, and enjoy!

I would love to hear:

1. What you think success really is?

2. What do you plan on doing to achieve it in the near future?

And before you respond let me give you some of the things that not so successful individuals that fail to get to the top happen to stumble upon or find some of the list very hard to overcome and in some cases unfortunately will lead to the demise of their businesses.

Life can be one big risk, and many fail at attempts in business. But if you never try how will you know that you can succeed on not. Wealthy Affiliate was designed by Carson and Kyle to help those interested in starting and running their own website based affiliate marketing business.

However, the more hurdles you overcome it will without a doubt greatly increase your odds of achieving success and provide you with greater personal growth than if you simply did not strive to improve yourself or your business at all.

Remember, by simply surpassing or being able to completely avoid these obstacles that fall in the faces of many of us in our journeys and daily struggles to climb up and not falter. By no means, will it guarantee that success is right around the corner or that you will even experience success at all.

A SHORT LIST OF AVOIDABLES

Here is a short list of things that you want to try to avoid for those wishing to truly succeed in life and business alike:

1. Forget to schedule -

Proper time management gives you more time.

    2. They ignored loved ones -

      Everyone needs moral support.

      3. Let technology take over -

It can make you very lazy.

        4. Rack up expenses

Management of money is a must.

          5. Stressed out -

Nervous breakdowns can cost you your business you can only do one thing at a time: prioritize.

            6. Forget to unwind -

Your time off is just that, time off: enjoy doing what you like to do most.

              7. Lack of sleep -

A healthy mind makes health decisions.

                8. Get to comfortable with time off.

Vacations are great but know your limits.

                  9. Not living in the Present -

Being prepared is one thing, however being a workaholic is not always productive.

                    10. Fail to reflect -

If you don’t assess what is working how do you know which way to head in the future.

Again the list is short but I hope it is still helpful to many and there are many other aspects or disciplines that should be learned in our business journeys. If you can think of others please list them in your reply’s we all can learn so much from each other here on the Wealthy Affiliate platform.

If we are just willing to contribute a little bit of our wisdom and knowledge for the benefit of others, we all gain from it. What you share here today may help many in the near future!

Thank you Christine for your words of kindness are greatly appreciated.

I hope that it has helped in some way!

                      Calvin

Great post Calvin, helpful, inspiring and motivating.

For me success is what I have achieved myself, as well as being able to live comfortably and never worrying about money.
Wealth is many things to many people but for me is having life, love that comes from the people in my life, happiness that I get to share what I have with them and good health, having a few years of bad health, I really appreciate that one.

                      Hi Linda,

                      Thanks for the kind words.

Yes, I would imagine that after having a couple of years with under the weather health conditions. that such a thing would change your priorities rather quickly and your appreciation of what it takes to achieve and maintain a good healthy lifestyle is much more important to you now.

Here's to the new healthy you,

                      Calvin

Very true, although I always went to the gym and cooked healthy food. It was being so healthy in the first place that meant I survived. Makes you appreciate life and be grateful for everything.

                      Great post!!
It's true that here we are lucky to have people like you, ready to give us crucial information to move forward. Without people as generous as you, WA would not be the same.

                      Ingrid

                      WOW

I am humbled by your kind words!

I am merely one piece on the chessboard of many, the group as a whole makes WA. To me, it is such an outstanding example of what can exist in today's business training learning platforms if you have the right members to help others along the path!

I wonder how do you plan on moving forward, care to share your elaborated plan?

                      Thank you for your reply,

                      Calvin

Calvin, a load of great information and help. True success means different things to different people, as you point out. True, money is not an indication of wealth...ask anyone who is bedfast with an incurable disease. Ask any lonely person with no friends.
You can find success here at WA, BUT, only if you do it right.
                      Thanks for a great blog.
                      Joe

                      HiJoe,

Thanks, for the kind words they are appreciated.

I wonder what a loney person would call success - maybe meeting and making a new friend?

I agree that WA can help lead you toward success, but it is your own hard work that will create your success, not the platform by itself.

Not sure shat you mean by "BUT, only if you do it fight."?

                      Can you explain this please?

                      Thanks again for your comment,

                      Calvin

Sorry...it was a typo. Should be RIGHT, not fight!
                      Joe

                      LOL

Joe, mine was the typo, not yours. You typed it as right and I am wondering if youd like to share: What you call the right way?

                      Calvin

I think the lessons are pretty clear. Follow them and if you don’t understand, ask questions, which is what Kyle asks us to do. To me, that is the right way.
It has seemed to work for thousands of members, so I guess I don’t feel smart enough to try to do it different.
Again, that’s what I feel is the right way.
                      Joe

I agree with that train of thought Joe,

I might also add that I would advance the training in the sequence that it is designed to follow as well. There is a madness to Kyle's method and order; it was designed to teach you to help you advance to the next level when the next level is where you need to advance to.

This not only makes sure that you don't skip over something but also automatically allows you to build and run your website profitability as you continue to learn how to do more for its natural growth and yours.

Earn while you learn - what a concept!!

                      Calvin.

                      Thanks for the kind reminder.

I hope you find it useful Jimmy!

                      It is.

Hi Calvin. Success to me is reached when you are truly happy with your life. Wealth can be many things. When I play with my great grandkids I feel wealthy. When I enjoy a day out with my wife I feel wealthy. When ever we have a family gathering I feel wealthy. I feel wealthy being a member of WA and interacting with all the other members.
And I love your list of avoidables. If we could all avoid them we would be much healthier, let alone wealthier. Jim

                      Hey there Jim,

Thank you for your input. I take it that your family and spending time with them is very important to you. This helps in keeping the life-work balance in check I am sure.

Yes, if we could simply conquer the avoidables and be hassle-free, our chances of success would most likely increase by ten!

While health and wealth are not the only aspects of success they definitely, from my point of view, play a major role in achieving our successes throughout our lives.

As always your comment is spot on and intriguing,

                      Calvin

                      Calvin,

Research is one of the most important things I do,
people who do not research the keyword enough
                      are not going to rank.

My addition to your list :)

Thank you for sharing this is awesome stuff!

                      Susie

                      Hi Susie,

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply it means a lot to me.

Yes, I would agree that doing extensive keyword research is very beneficial to the results of each and every blog we write and submit to our websites.

I am curious: Do you use just Jaaxy for your keyword research or do you use other keyword tools also?

And what do you plan on doing in the near future to build upon your success?

                      All input is appreciated,

                      Calvin

Yes, I use Jaaxy but go one step further in my research
by checking my competition on the major search engines.

Do you recommend using another keyword research tool
besides Jaaxy to help with finding the best keywords.

Plans for my future success would be finding consistency
with posting to my websites. Along with a better balance
                      of working and enjoying life.

                      Thank you,
                      Susie

                      Hi Susie,

Yes, life/work balance is something that many business owners struggle with. The sad part is, that every business owner has to figure this balance out for themselves.

Some owners want to build their businesses, therefore, their personal life suffers slightly, while other veteran business owners have well-established businesses that require less time investment to keep it operating at the profitable rate they are comfortable with.
                      _____________________________________________________

There are lots of free keyword research tools out there today some are limited use while others are completely free here’s a list for you to try out in your spare time:

                      https://keywordsheeter.com/
I entered the keyword “cheap hotels” and got 260 keyword possibilities

                      https://answerthepublic.com/ -
I entered the keyword “cheap hotels” and got 260 keyword possibilities

They offer a beginners’ course to learn how to use the platform I strongly suggest you take the first free version to get a general understanding of how it works. Once you learn the basics you can get much better results with in-depth searches mine search was just a general base keyword search

This is a great tool for those that have run out of keyword possibilities to write about also. You enter a keyword and it divides keyword possibilities into: how, when, who, which, will, what, can, where, are, why, is, near, without, with, to, for, versus, or, vs., and like categories, it lists them alphabetically, and then it also provides you with related keyword possibilities.
                      ____________________________________________________
                      Then there is:

                      https://www.wordtracker.com/
I entered the keyword “cheap hotels” and got 1776 keyword possibilities

                      https://trends.google.com/trends
This is a different kind of research tool, but can be used to help locate popular keywords used in certain areas such as Florida or the U. S. In other words “cheap hotels” might be a good keyword to use in Atlanta Georgia, but “cheap hotels near me” might be more popular if you are in the Dallas, Texas area (something valuable for local SEO).

Here is a link to another tool offer in Google trends but on December 15, 2019; it is scheduled to close down from lack of usage:
                      https://www.google.com/trends/correlate
                      ____________________________________________________
These two are apps the first can only be used without or with Chrome as an extension (app) and the other is Chrome and Foxfire friendly:

                      https://www.wordtracker.com/
I entered the keyword “cheap hotels” and got 1776 keyword possibilities

                      https://keywordseverywhere.com/
I don’t have this downloaded on this computer so I was unable to run a quick search on it to get some sort of results to report.
                      _____________________________________________________
I have seen others suggesting Google Keyword Planner. I do not recommend using this tool it is not designed to calculate the free competition of the keyword and only figures in “paid for” competition; remember it is offered through Google Adwords which is not based as a free service.

Additionally, you can use Google Search Console as a keyword research tool go to Search Console>Performance>Queries you may need to watch Jay’s GSC training to understand that report but it can tell you what keywords are getting the most impressions.
                      _____________________________________________________
And finally utilize Google Search in two completely different ways:

The first way is to use it, as a friendly keyword suggestion tool. Google’s AI does all the work for you. Simply, start typing in a phrase and the AI will offer many alternative searches. Equally important, the AI again generates a list of related possibilities for you to search also. See Screenshot for the location of this feature (bottom of any search page).

The second is after you have found your keyword through diligent research do a direct search of that particular keyword and see the competition and how many other bogs have been submitted under that same keyword it tells you that figure directly under the box enter text to conduct inquiries in.

Also on a side note don’t be afraid to use latent semantic keywords in the keywords section of your SEO plugin, the Google AI is beginning to understand Synonyms much like the technology of thesaurus apps does.

                      Hope this helps you out.
                      Calvin

                      Calvin,

Thank you, I am sure this is going to help many of the
                      members here!

                      Susie

                      I appreciate the kind words.

Something else I would also like to say:

Even though other places offer free keyword research tools. I still find that Jaaxy is the best on the market, I personally use it, and will use the others to back up my Jaaxy keyword research. This is to assure that it is right up there in the low competition and high traffic quota.

With keywords, I have found that the more research you do for the better low hanging keywords the easier it is to get the material ranked highly and keep it in the top rankings of all the search engines.

                      Thanks for your replies,

                      Calvin

Hi Calvin, this is a boomer of a post. Your top ten is one for bookmarking.

                      Thanks Twack,

I am humbled by your kind words and the suggestion that my work is bookmarking material wow blows my doors off.

And to think I was just trying to offer some helpful information to inspire other members to concentrate more on what they achieve (personal development) while accomplishing their goals and not some much as the goal itself.

                      Again thank you,

                      Calvin

You're very welcome Calvin. I am always learning from others and may that never stop. Be assured you have helped me and I thank you for that.

                      hey Twack,

I too learn something new every day (at least I try to) and am grateful for many of the members here at WA for providing me with many aspects of this business model that I either forget in the rat race or never really learned to begin with.

Together we have greater odds of achieving outstanding things,

                      Calvin
