Today here at Union Square in Downtown San Francisco, second Saturday of the month kicks off their Annual drunk Santa Day. And even though we got major winds and rain, we still got some Mr. and Mrs. Santa coming out.

Here is the first Santa I saw this morning at Union Square, now with the rain blasting us here today I wonder just how many I will get to see. I will create post at end of day here local time for you all to enjoy.

What fun traditions do any of you fun people out there in the world celebrate in the Christmas season?

Here is a person with a camera, tripod, Bluetooth speaker and an open mind to create fun and income. He is taking photos in front of the Macy’s Christmas of the Santa’s. He will also use their cell phone, and he accepts tips and I am sure he will have profitable day.

Now here is a Santa that caught my eye, Hello Miss Santa!!!!

A few years back there was a fun couple I met and chatted with. Misses Santa was dressed at the Christmas tree from the movie, Christmas Vacation, complete with the squirrel. Oh it was so cute and funny.

Okay, off to see what other Santa’s come my way today and get photos.

Happy Drunk Santa’s Day everyone.

Super David Scott, the Zam Man.

Precious! I enjoy seeing how people from different places celebrate the Holidays !

Thank you for sharing!

Cheers,
🎄Maria

Once the rain let up, red suit ocean all around me. I had to walk about 10 minutes from my ice rink where our company has another even set up at the subway entrance, Santa's everywhere! I went home before it got crazy for the bars were starting to fill up and that was still early.

Wow As a non drinker I wonder what brings them to celebrate feeling inebriated, oh well, each his own.
Get back to work!

Not everyone gets drunk, just the few that started the tradition. Most everyone here now is just happy good ol folk. Saw a cute tree Mrs Santa, it is fun seeing the outfits but my first year was like, What is going on around here? I did not know about it.

Good to enjoy the Holiday, remembering for whose birthday we are celebrating… just saying.

That sounds like fun. Too bad the weather isn’t cooperating. Have a great time!

Susan

I do not think the weather will keep most of them away, most of them are pretty well sauced up by noon, most passed out by 6 PM, then the night shift of Drunk Santas take over. Makes for some great photos though.

I always have fun, best way to enjoy the day.

Good to see you again Susan.

Thanks, Scott…you too! Haha…I’ll bet you’ll see some sights. Great photo ops await. Enjoy your day,

Hey, Scott

Great post!

I love that movie - National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and we will definitely be watching it as it gets closer to Christmas! My favorite part is when Randy Quaid pumps the sewage from his camper into the catch basin in the street while half-dressed and drinking a beer! 🍺

I hope you get lots of guitars from Santa! 🎅

Happy Holidays! 🎄😎

Love one woman, many guitars.

Ya that is a classic scene and when granny hears the squirrel in the tree, oh that was a riot. OH, and the Christmas lights hooked up the garage light. That is another classic part of the movie.

Got my Jazzmaster in last week direct from Fender. It is the Squire version, still fun to play.

Merry Christmas

The Zam man

Hey, Scott

Great guitar collection!, but I don't see your Country Gentleman in there.

I love the sound of the Jazzmaster pups, especially the neck pup selected using the upper bout controls! They never really caught on in the Jazz community to replace the hollow-body and semi-hollow-body Gibsons, but if you watch some of the old videos, you'll see Joe Pass using one!

There's an article on my site: "Is A Jazzmaster Good For Beginners? – What You Need To Know!" If you get a minute, let me know what you think.

Every part of that Christmas Vacation movie is hilarious! 😎

Grandpas guitar is at my brothers house for the winter, not going to take her on the road with me. I posted on one of your blogs, funny for Google brought your site to my attention from my browsing guitar porn at sweetwater, Fender, and guitar center. You were speaking of the differences between a strat, teli, and jazzmaster for the beginner if I remember right.

Your my go to guy now for 411 and the lowdown on anything guitar, and 5 watt guy on You Tube. He comes up with some really stuff that interests me.

You definitely rock. Oh ya, the Teli is made in Corona Californian, the Strat in Mexico and the Jazzmaster in Indonesia, the Hummingbird in China, I help everyone. Lol.

Haha, Thanks for the vote of confidence, Scott! 😎

Yeah, I answered your post. I think you got my free ebook, too (email lead magnet). What did you think of it??

Frank 🎸

Ya I did get that, do not drink a bunch of beer and try to read, gotta read it again. But heck ya, that was cool. You getting much success with it?

Hey, Scott

I’m having so so success with the ebook, about 1 to 3 downloads a day.

I wrote it with beginner, intermediate, and advanced sections to appeal to the widest possible audience.

If you get a few minutes take a quick look and let me know what you think.

The advanced section might interest you. It’s on:
Using The “CAGED” System
Creating CAGED Chords
Creating CAGED Scales

A great improvisational tool!

Frank 🎸

I found it, I like the layout, I have my kindle the same way, and I like the lighter colors, just seems cleaner. You got a grip of pics in there and cool how your speaking to the beginners and us old lazy types, clean and tune your guitar for goodness' sakes. Lol.

You create that with Canva?
It looks really clean bro on my I-Pad pro, darn pesky desktop will not let me copy and paste the url. To lazy to figure it out so trusty ol I-pad to the rescue.

I am working right now on getting a guitar to sound good going straight into Ableton live, not having much success there. There is a ton of fun stuff in Ableton I can drop into the channel, but they way overdrive the signal or something. I just do not like the sound. Trying my pedal and see what happens there.

You Rock.

Ya I saw those CAGED sytems, still seeing what I can get away with using just my laptop and minum gear, so working on the pedel part now, I looked at your CAGED part and I am digging in with knive, fork and spoon.

Awesome you are starting to get some traction with it. I realy like the books layout. I have always liked white cars and trucks too. Just looks clean, and you can add flavor with a crazy color on the rims.

Thanks for having look at my book! Yeah I whipped it together in Canva.

Glad you like it! 😎

I haven’t used Abelton Live in a number of years, but it’s a great recording tool.

I used Pro Tools on PC and Garage Band on Mac, but I’m not recording now.

I’d rather spend the time playing music.

Hey, Scott

If you’re not familiar with CAGED, definitely get that stuff under your fingers!

I only touched on the very basics but it’ll get you soloing over any chord anywhere on the neck! 😎

Frank 🎸

Pro tools keeps crashing on my Macbook pro, garage band is still outer space to me, So learned Ableton. Working on getting second Macbook for Video at church, my puter guy loads software into them. Old school puter hot rods. I like recording the band and such, now recording what I am doing other than on a voice recorder or field recorder and that can move over into podcasting, nature sounds and such. I want to master it.

Yes, I have learned some of the bare boned basics of the cages system, without even knowing that what it was. Just figured out the pattern, but super cool to get tricks, the not so secret recipe. Haha. You rock Frank.

Hey, Scott

Pro Tools is the industry standard but Garage Band is quickest and easiest to master, in my opinion.

Once you learn the Ionian (major) scale over the five CAGED shapes you can create any chord, arpeggio, and scale all over the neck.

For example, when playing a G chord in the “C” caged position play the Ionian scale there (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7). Now, remove the 2 and 6 and flat the 3rd and 7th note. You have the minor pentatonic scale in the C position (1, b3, 4, 5, b7). Now add a b5 and you have the blues scale (1, b3, 4, b5, 5, b7).

Going back to the G chord in the “C” caged position, it comes out of the same Ionian scale as 1, 3, 5. Now add the 6th and you have a G6th chord (1, 3, 5, 6) in that position.

That’s the basics of how it works. By learning that one Ionian scale in the 5 CAGED positions you become the master of the guitar chord, arpeggio, and scale universe all over the neck! Hahaha! 😎

Have Fun With It!
Frank 🎸

I was practicing on my Gibson short scale bass some last night as well, Music is such a blast!

Give those CAGED exercises a try on a 6-string, and you'll see quick results! 😎

Sweet!

👍 👍

It sounds like you are having a Grand old day, Zam Man!

Keep having fun in the Holiday Spirit, my friend!

Jeff🎅🎄

OH ya, very much enjoying this now that I got my rink doing its thing.

Love it, my friend! You have some very rewarding occupations and experiences! Well done!

Jeff
