Wealthy Affiliate Not Recognized By Statcounter?
While I still am figuring out Google analytics and why the stats there are different from Google Webmaster tools, I am using the noob-friendly Statcounter.
I wanted to know where my visitors come from, and in the projects page I can see a breakdown of sites and search engines that referred the traffic to my site, The Healthy Opinion.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I was surprised that out of 110 total visits yesterday, 60 of them have "no referring link". And that I didn't see Wealthy Affiliate in the referring lists at all.
I decided to do a random and quick experiment. So I cleared my statcounter stats and reset everything to zero, then had my friend from Winnipeg click my website link from my WA profile page.
Her visit came up, with her IP address, location, and internet service provider a match, but no Wealthy Affiliate seen, and it's listed under "no referring link".
I wonder why?

Hey it's possible it may be an auto responder issue . Did you change any optin or landing pages?
I have no idea what optin pages are, but apart from uploading themes, l haven't done much. :p
Opt in page is a sign in with a.email page. You connect those directly to your auto responder along with your sales funnel or your thank you page. Which ever route you choose to take. Sometimes problems come up in your auto responder which is why I brought that up. I have never tried using a stat counter so i can't tell you how reliable those are. Or even where to find one for that matter lol
I chose statcounter because many members recommended using it while still figuring out how to understand google analytics. I don't have an opt in page, but now that you mention it, I will look into that to start subscriptions :)
I wonder if Kyle and/or Carson are aware of this and how significant an issue it is or isn't. Maybe drop a support ticket and get some feedback from the top?
The support team has so much work, I didn't want to add to their workload since it's not causing harm to my site. But I was curious haha.
Well, if you're really curious, it can't hurt to pose the question. That's why they make the big bucks :-)

I always understood it to mean that someone came to your website by typing or copying a URL directly into the web address line. Since the visitor did not come from a search engine or other website by clicking a link on that website, there is no referring link to be added to the statistics. I believe it also applies to bookmarks. If I have bookmarked your site, then everytime I click your link from my bookmark, it will show as a "no referring link."
Yes, but I reset the stats and had my friend click my site link from my WA profile. But her ip address in statcounter registered her visit as having no referring link.
