Newbie Tip: Keep your eyes on the road and not the scenery!!
Well I'm back on WA after a couple of days of 'doing' life and am trying to prevent myself from falling into old habits. I love learning, and can veeery easily become sidetracked when something shiny pops into view!!
Despite my best efforts, I've even found this starting to happen within WA. When the notifications come through about new blogs, or training vids I'm on it like stink on doo doo!
The trouble with this is:
1) It takes me into a time warp and I awaken hours later without achieving my 'action list'.
2) Some of the training is probably best utilized at a later stage of my development, and can actually add to confusion, or feelings of panic (that I don't know enough).
The solution? Refocus and 'follow the training brick road'. The training has been designed to allow people to get the best outcome using logical steps: Follow it and the endpoint will be closer so much quicker.
So for any other newbies out there, trust the system and stick to the training and get the 'first things first'. Everything has it's place, and I'm pleased to say mine is here at WA!

It is a problem for tired full time workers to focus in the right areas. But measure the week to week progress for your direction. Best Wishes
Guilty! I've already realised I need to do this too and as of this weekend. I get so many emails and blogs to go through that I don't get my site built which is what I should be doing. Need to change as you have suggested. Thank you for reminding me. What do other WA'ers do with all the emails/blogs please?
Hi :) I do like this : When i work i close everything, WA, email, all and also i press my girlfriend's off button. You need to keep concentrate on your work and allow a part of time each day for wa, email and blog ;) Goodluck and success
The email/blogs can get overwhelming and takes away from the important things (like work on our website). i usually check mine first with a time limit before I start working on my own post. Also if the blog is long and has some very helpful information I will bookmark the page for reading later.
Hello Sean....I can really relate to what you are saying. I also feel like I want to move "full speed ahead" but...I am still running my other business and I must keep a balance. I also found that a great deal of the training here at WA will be better utilized further down the road...but this is a good thing...because it shows that as we become more advanced....more advanced training is available. You are right in saying we need to refocus on what is right in front of us and prioritize. Best of luck to you....*from one "newbie" to another* Melanie :)
Hi Sean! Good advice my friend! There is so much to learn and it can be simply overwhelming. You are right, stick to the training and take it one day at a time!

I'm from newbies and I must admit that many fall behind Since these, I read a lot, and there are a lot interesting publications. I agree with you, we need to concentrate on learning. My site is still is not built for now. My fault.
just take the small steps and you will end up at your destination eventually. Keep on keepin' on!
