Yes you could ad more content - that's up to you. If it is under 1500 words I would, and then be sure to let Google know what you have done.

No, I would leave it for now, unless it's too short, lol. If you go into Jaaxy and put your keyword phrase (the title of your article) into "search analysis", it will bring up the top 10 posts on Google for you to check out.
This is a great way to see what your competition is doing, and what they're adding to their content to get ranked that high.
Great way to get ideas to add to your content.
Also, keep in mind that the longer the post, the happier Google is with you!
Don't let that scare you. The more you write, the easier it gets. I frequently go back to my old posts and add more after months or even a year. Especially if they're not ranking.
