We used to listen to Mystery Theatre when I was little too (through no choice of my own) but I secretly enjoyed the stories quite a bit! I'll bet the twilight zone stories are just as good on audio as they were on TV! And probably just as scary! You can check them out here

some of the audiobooks on my page are under $1- just scroll down the page for a bunch of the twilight ones!
Some were scary but the one that scared me the most as a child was one in 'The Outer Limits" series.

We just got a dvd set of the Twilight Zone and watched them all. Not only are they still twisted (watching as an older adult rather than the child I was when they first came out) but this silly TV format with the wide screen stretched their faces quite a lot. That looked weird too.
That's funny, I bet it was weird watching them like that, I see them on the local channel and they are a bit more cheesy now that I'm older and after today's technology but I do like watching them anyway and it leaves a little to the imagination when you listen to them on audio.
