I Am Not Concerned With Amazon Lowering Their Commissions. And Nor Should You Be!

I have seen a lot of posts on here about dear Uncle Jeff and his financial hardships that have led him to tiighten his purse strings......it must be really tough when you are down to your last $138 Billion!

Amazon have decided to cut commissions as they are "feeling the pinch" of the Corona Virus.
Bless them!

With that in mind, I have decided to share why I write my articles on my website and want to grow my website and blog.

I write my articles entirely for my audience. Sometimes I pop a product in and a link to Amazon, but it's not my core strategy.

I get 3% now if someone buys a product which is low of course, but I am not bothered.

I write entirely for my audience and they decide of my content is good. Amazon is a few bucks a month and to be honest, I never wanted it to be more than that.

I want my revenue from my site to be determined by me and my audience, not Jeff Bezos.

I have my own products that sell and really great affiliate offers that also sell and they are entirely Amazon free!

Personally, I use Amazon to buy some stuff on and if it's cheaper locally, offline or on eBay, I use that route.

I hardly took a second glance at the Amazon commission structure when I started out with my website anyway, other to pop a link on for my readers to buy things I didn't sell which was more of a service to them than anything else.

I have never built an Amazon review site nor will I ever do one!

Build your OWN business online is what I am all about and it does seem to be working and growing..

so I say this:....I don't really care about Amazon, Jeff or his commission structure!

Well said!
Good job for Jeff he doesn't pay any Corporation Tax here in the UK or his last 138 Billion would be depleted even quicker!
I'm not an Amazon Associate but I had given some passing thought. The matter's all settled now, Sorry Jeff!
Cheers
Rich :-)

Yes I think you have hit the nail on the head here!
Building your website to best serve your audience is precisely the way we should all be conducting our business.

Great advice
Dave

Hello Tony,

I hope you're doing well, it's great to see that you are a dog lover, I am too, although, I don't have a dog at the moment. I'm looking forward to having another German shepherd soon.

That's an interesting post and an interesting take Tony, I hear you big time. I have never sold a single item on Amazon or particularly tried to. I have many other affiliate programs that offer much more than Amazon and are far better for my niche.

I like the fact that you are writing for your audience rather than commissions. In this way, I believe that commissions come in the right way rather than forced into being.

Wishing you all the best with your online business and more.

Roy
