No one is coming to save me!

I was laying in bed the other night, and it dawned on me that "NO ONE IS COMING TO SAVE ME!" All my life I have worked hard and provided for myself, and then later helped my husband provide for us. We both made a lot of financial mistakes along the way. We made a lot of bad decisions. We amassed large sums of money, but we lived large and spent way too much on junk.

Subconsciously, I think I thought I would always be able to work -- at something. I am very creative and I thought I would also be able to use that. But guess what? When your health fails and you are just too tired to get out of bed, there is no job to accommodate that!

I have always held on to backwards thinking. First, I thought some miracle would happen to help us save our house in 2010. No miracle happened, and we ended up taking a loss. That was supposed to have been our retirement. Then we had a family member that we thought was going to leave us an inheritance. It turns out, that did not happen at his death and will not when his wife passes. The inheritance is going to our son. We cannot count on anything from our son. He has helped us in tiny amounts on occasion, but we would never expect him to take care of us.

We both get Social Security, and with both checks, we are surviving. But as everything continues to increase in price, we are losing that battle too. And God forbid one of us dies. My husband will be 85 on Saturday. I thank God everyday for him, but he has already beaten the odds. So I can't count on that either. Either way, whichever one of us goes first, the other one will be left in a heap of trouble. Neither one of us can survive on one check.

As I laid there, I thought about Wealthy Affiliate. I threw away 10 years! If only I had done this 10 years ago, 6 years ago, 4 years ago?? But I didn't. It took until the end of last year to realize that I was running out of time to take action! Honestly, though, I just don't think I could have done all that I have done even 2 years ago. I needed all of these tools! We have 2 family members now with dementia, and that also caused me to pause. My mind is sharp as a tack. I need to do something NOW! Also, in the back of my mind, I had buried the fact that I am getting OLD! But I still have my mind. I can use that!

So I am here, building something with my mind, that hopefully will pay off very soon. I feel very fortunate. My body is failing, but my mind is not -- not yet anyway! I also am very thankful I married a tech guy, so we have always had computers in our house. I know so many elderly that do not have access and do not even want to learn this late in life. They have very few, if any, options. But I do. And I am using everything that I have to succeed in WA! So, I PLAN ON SAVING MYSELF!

Imagine what that will feel like? I have diddled and dawdled and thrown away 10 years. But no looking back from here on out. All of us Golden Oldies on here can provide for ourselves. Also, for all the young ones-- DO NOT let another minute slip through your hands. Act now! Don't waste 10 years like I did. You also have access to all the fantastic tools here that make this work 10 times easier. You have a lot more time than I have. Use it to your best advantage, and 10 years from now you will be sitting on a beach somewhere thanking me! Ha!Ha!
