Better than Google Analytics?
Statcounter is a tool similar to Google Analytics, in that it is used for tracking your visitors and the traffic on your site.
However, I think it is easier to understand and use than Google Analytics.
The layout is a lot easier to navigate and undertand,(i know google can be confusing sometimes)
I especially recommend this for "beginners". You can see a ton of information from this site, including exactly where your traffic is coming from, what keywords are ranking for you best and which search engines are giving you the best results!
They also include what pages are most popular on your blog or website.
An awesome key i like with this free site is where your visitors are clicking from to leave your site, and many more!
I started using this tool when I first began blogging because of it’s simplicity, and I still continue to use it even today, in addition to Google Analytics.
They send me a weekly detailed report in my email here is an example:

there are lot more out there then just Google and Yahoo also lot cheaper some cost about 05 per click. not everybody have that kind of money to spend on Google. Google keep changing without warning. I have over 10 or more of these internet for a lot lees then Google. you can tap into it.
Thanks for reminding me about this. I had Statcounter on 3 of my unattended websites for the last 3 years, but those sites got taken down by hostgator for too many inodes (whatever that means - probably too many comments by spammers!) I will get onto this asap. I find Google Analytics a bit hard too.
Lol.. it definitely can be "overwhelming" to say the least!! let me know how well it goes with that!
Thanks for this info, going to give it a try. Google Analytics for me at the moment is a mystery, as it doesn't show any activity on my site in spite of numerous visits. Lydia.
