Ad Sense Has Competition
Hello WA!
I was busily working on my websites, doing the lessons, when I came across Media.net. It came to me as an email. It's described as an invite-only Yahoo! Bing Network Contextual Ads Program (powered by Media.net).
The thing that caught my attention was the fact that an affiliate marketer could get ads without being a part of Google Ad Sense. I had read from others at WA making mention of this fact, but I had not investigated the alternatives until Media.net.
Once you fill out a very simple form on their website, and then wait approximately 2 days to get approved, you then have access to their site in designing how you want your ads displayed.
Once your design is done, you input the ad code, HTML or text, onto your pages and posts and then you're done.
Currently, the ads are just word categories that actually pick up clues from your website content, but Media.net is working on getting images because they know, as Kyle has taught, images work well at engaging people.
Then, I spoke to someone at Media.net and he said that he was attracted to my site by my content. I WAS SHOCKED! THIS ACTUALLY WORKS!
Please take a look at my site to see what the ads look like, if you don't already know. http://www.swimfolk.com
Thanks,
Beverly

Thanks, for letting us know about this media.net alternative to adsense!
One question...I notice that when I click on any of the links such as "swimming lessons", "pool equipment", etc., the visitor actually leaves your page and goes to the media.net link...so, can you fix the links to open up in a new page tab...so the visitor can easily click back to your tab?

Jim,
That's a great question. I'll look into that. It's probably in the settings and I overlooked it.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Is your site getting a lot of traffic? I heard from others using media.net that your site must be getting tons of traffic before it can be accepted.
I have a lot of content and just started the site2 months ago. I do have all my social media pointing to my site. Media.net called me and was quoting things I wrote. It was quite surprising.
He said he was going to take my advise and tell his friends about the site. I'M STILL SHOCKED!
My formula is DOING EVERYTHING WA TELLS ME TO DO! LOL
Bev-
I, too, was surprised by your story. But since they are the one who approached you, then probably they like your site.
Your site looks great...very professional and informative. Thanks for the tip...another tool to keep handy.
