I Had To Come Back- Ready for a Fresh Start at Wealthy Affiliate!
Hello to all the WA community!
This is a much needed update about my journey with WA.
I am taking a deep breath to relax (yes I am nervous!)
Honestly there is not much to tell. Doing a blog post was first on my to do list. So here goes......
2015 - I joined WA in 2015. Holy cow that's 8 years ago! Time flies when you are having fun!!!
We are all here for the same reasons as WA offers the BEST opportunity for beginners to build a succesful online business from the ground up. After taking the free starter course for a test drive, I knew this was the right choice for me!
At the time I joined WA they had been established and operating for 10 years. That told me they were reputable, trustworthy, honest and they truly cared about helping everybody become successful.
I knew I was in the right place at the right time. Anxious and excited and afraid to get started, I jumped in....
I was learning, taking action on my training, asking questions, my mentor was there for me, even the WA community was helping me.
One will face many bad days where frustration, anger, overthinking, excuses, feeling overwhelmed, second guessing yourself, just to name a few. Hey it's okay! As humans we all go through this!
As a benefit to you , it's a good idea to loose those negative feelings and thoughts. Negativity breeds negativity.
Learning about your self- discipline and mindset will help one stay in "positive" mode. Practice, Patience and Time!!!
Within a year and a half I had my site up and running. Because I worked full time and could only commit about 10 hours a week, building out my website was very very slow going. I was determined and proud of my accomplishments so far. Yes I did it and I can keep on going!
2016 - Life got in the way and threw me a HUGE curveball. I was diagnosed with a severe mental healh disorder that negatively impacted my daily life.
Time to get my mental health in order! My road to recovery was total committment. Alas, I could not continue with WA! I was devasted!
Over the yearsI kept my membereship active so I could check in now and then and see what was happening.
2020 - Welcome to Covid-19! The chaos this virus created affected everybody in some way. I lost my job of 32 years! Ouch!
Adjusting to the new norm of living with Covid and especially an unplanned retirement was very challenging.
What was I going to do with all this retirment freedom and covid isolation?
"Hello WA!"
After a lot of soul searching I had to get back to Wealthy Affiliate! I had come to far with training to give it all up. I started my WA opportunity to be financially successful.
So what 6 years have passed. I can start fresh. Time for this senior to start learning and take action on building my website so I can have extra income!
Black Friday 2022 I renewed my membership. Done deal!
I am happy and excited to be back. Looking forward to learning and building out my site!
A special thank you to Carson for helping me get back on the right track!

Great to have you back in the saddle working towards your goals Barb! The world is your oyster, the internet represents an opportunity for all of us to do something that we love and create a full time business in the process!
Keep us updated as you move forward through the training. ;)
Hi Barb, I am glad you came back. I understand all of the things that pop up in life that happen. Now is a better time to get back into the swing of things with all the changes with Google and Artificial Intelligence (AI) becoming a hot topic for the world and human writers can outsmart that with our content. I am so glad you did not give it up. I followed you. I've been here since 2019, my 4 years. Three years were the hardest with health issues and dealing with the grief of losing my husband 6 years ago. Now it's time to get a new fresh start. I am glad the new interface has made things more streamlined for new people starting here.
Hi Brenda, Thank you for the kind words. We do have one thing in common. I too lost my husband 11 years ago. Things happen for a reason and I believe one gains a lot of strenght and courage to move on. I am all in on the new interface! Excited to learn new training for the Boot camp! Dont know anything about AI. My mentor took time off so I am feeling a wee bit lost.
Definately time for a new start. Enjoy your day!
