Distractions 3 A Grandchild to Love

So as I walked Gio, changed him, played with him, sang and made silly sounds for him, I’d tell him, ”Grandma has to find the right niche, Gio. What should be my niche?” I’d think about what my niche should be while researching children’s songs, books, movies, fairy tales, nursery rhymes and other items for Gio.

Even before Gio was born, I was frustrated by the lack of websites that fit my searches. Yes, this website is all about fairy tales, and that website is about interactive books and this other website has games, but I wanted to find it all in one place. A place a grandparent, parent, relative, nanny or babysitter could go to for activities, games, stories, etc for an infant through 5 years.

Over a month, I agonized about not being able to choose a theme for the card making niche and why I was finding this so difficult. Maybe I should cancel my WA membership until I could fully focus.

I could quit and then come back when I’m more with it.

No, wait…. This is as good as I get.

So that won’t work.

And then, finally, the light went on. Gio (my favorite sounding board is now 6 months old) is delighted that my niche would be about activities, games and toys that have educational and entertainment value to children up to age 5. I have much research and writing to do, a landing page to create and affiliates relationships to get started.

I wrote this series of blogs, Distractions 1, 2 & 3, as what I hope will resonate with those who find themselves equally overwhelmed and feeling lost.

I'm writing if for you - you with one foot already out the door, ready to call it quits. You tried, you failed. You haven't been doing the classes (scared it'll be too hard or lack of time), you haven't been writing the blogs (no time or feeling you have nothing to share), no niche (your idea no longer feels right or too much research that needs to be done or you have no ideas) or maybe you're feeling overwhelmed by all the email.

First things first: go to the world icon at top right side of the page, click on it and select how and which emails you want. Only new follows? Then unclick everything else. Pick and choose which emails you want. Got it? If not, ask me or someone else. I made the same mistake of not filtering my email early on and just recently got a clue, thanks to a member.

Now, that's out of the way and you're already feeling better!

Now the classes. Do them. They require time but weren't written for rocket scientists so you can do them. But you have to start. So start now. Right after I tell you....

Write a blog. Just something to say you're still with WA and us. Because we're a community and we're watching out for you. But we have to know you're willing to be an active participating member of WA.

Niche. easy. What do you like to do most of all? When you have free time, what do you do?

hmmm. Yeah that could be a niche.

So investigate it, check it out on the web, see what others are writing and talking about.

Then go with it.
