Distraction 2 the revelation

I joined Wealthy Affiliate in late April and realized soon after that I’d probably taken on more than I could handle. I was either taking care of Gio or driving 3 hours to or from one town or the other; moving furniture, groceries, storage containers, personal items and bins full of my card making materials into the apartment; or organizing said items into the furniture or storage bins.

Every so often, I’d try and go onto WA website, but too many things were going on in my head. I had not set up a filter on emails, so I was getting Everything. Well, I figured other members were handling all this communication so I would just have to deal. I’d focus on the emails and try to get on top of them and meanwhile I had no time to write blogs or do much work on the website or focus on the classes.

In addition, I began thinking that my card making would not make a good website, at least as one to monetize. I love making cards, but when I go to the card making websites (for inspiration or tutorials) I’m at a loss on why I should take on a niche so well served. In addition, my skill set still needs to be developed further. So, my hobby will not make it as the niche for my website. But what would work? I spent weeks going over this again and again. And then.....

Paul, thx for ur words of encouragement.

You are welcome but is the only way so let your feelings be your guide

What about tutorials teaching others how to hand make cards? :)

Yes, I had thought of that. In my search to improve my card making skills, I'm constantly searching for tutorials and how to's. Most of the sites I've been on offer wonderful ideas in designing cards. The sites also show a variety of hand-made cards, sometimes 100's. I have learned a great deal from visiting these sites. However, what I can offer in the way of new card design would be a rehash of what these sites already offer.

My skill set involves more of combining color and pattern and the employment of images I've created or modified in order to create an individualized card. I don't like to make the same card design unless I incorporate a new patterned paper and coordinating color. So I don't do multiple cards all the same; each card is different. And since the die cutting tools I utilize are copyrighted, I am forbidden in selling cards using the dies made.
So my only option has been to show people how to make cards and it's a steep climb for me to get there.

I have decided that I will do a 'tutorial' on card making, the way I do it. And I will have the opportunity to show what I can and like to do.
Thanks so much, Jude, you always have an encouraging word and are so positive.

I just realized I haven't been signing my blogs.
