How I Built My First Website on Wealthy Affiliate (Step-by-Step)

I had zero technical experience. No coding knowledge, no design background, not even a clear idea of what my website would be about.

Here's exactly how I went from nothing to a live website using Wealthy Affiliate.

Step 1: I Picked a Niche I Actually Cared About

I spent time thinking about what I could talk about without getting bored. This step matters more than people admit.

Step 2: I Used Wealthy Affiliate's Website Builder (SiteRubix)

Wealthy Affiliate has a built-in tool, SiteRubix that handles the technical side. I logged in, chose a WordPress template, and had a live site up in under 20 minutes. No hosting setup, no domain wrangling from scratch. it was all inside the platform.

Step 3: I Picked a Domain Name

I kept it simple: something short, easy to spell, and loosely tied to my niche. I didn't overthink this because I thought a perfect domain name won't save a bad site, and a decent domain name won't hold back a good one.

Step 4: I Set Up My First Few Pages

Before writing any blog content, I created the basics, an About page, a Contact page, and a simple homepage.

This gave the site structure and made it feel like an actual business instead of a random collection of posts.

Step 5: I Wrote My First Piece of Content

This was the part that scared me most. I used the training inside Wealthy Affiliate to understand keyword research basics, then wrote a post answering one specific question my target audience was likely searching for. It wasn't perfect because I believe it didn't need to be; it needed to exist.

Step 6: I Joined the Community for Feedback

One thing I didn't expect to matter as much as it did: the Wealthy Affiliate community. Posting my site for feedback and getting pointed at mistakes I couldn't see myself saved my time and efforts.

What I'd Tell Someone Starting Today (If you are a beginner or starter member inside WA)

Don't wait until you feel "ready." I didn't know what I was doing when I built that first site, and looking back, most of my early content wasn't great.

But the site existing, live, indexed by Google; that's what let everything after it happen. You can't improve a website that doesn't exist yet.

If you're thinking about starting but keep finding reasons to delay, the technical barrier probably isn't the real obstacle anymore. Platforms like Wealthy Affiliate removed that excuse a long time ago.
