Someone Stole My Porch

Yesterday, my wife had the day off. About two thirty in the afternoon, she called me at work to ask me if I had been home. I told he "no" and on the other end of the phone was silence.

I asked her why and she said our front porch was gone. We both sat there in shock and silence for what felt like a minute or two.

I said, "someone did what?" I was rubbing my forehead in disbelief.

She said that she left the house for an hour and we she got back, she noticed we "no" longer had a front porch.

So, How About A Little Back Story

We bought a house last July to fix up. It is a double wide trailer on the outside of town. It had an 18-foot handicap aluminum ramp on the front of it.

I didn't have any pictures of the front of the house, so this picture is from Google Maps. It's the same picture I had to give the police for the theft report.

We don't have the trampoline in the picture because the Google Maps picture is from some later time when someone else lived here, but the ramp was here.

The picture below is of the front of the house with "no" ramp. This is the picture that was taken yesterday afternoon.

Back To The Present

My wife called to police and I called the metal recycling places in town to let them know someone stole our aluminum ramp and we were making a police report. They told me they would call if anyone came in.

Now For The Good Part

I still am in shock. It is hard to get in the front door because it is four feet from the ground. Luckily, I am a carpenter and have various ladders.

My four foot gets us to the door but it is very unnerving for my wife to climb up, open the door, and go inside.

Anyway, the good part

I left work early to go to Sam's Club and buy some cameras. I didn't know if the people who stole the porch would come back and I wanted cameras to product my trailer and lawnmower.

While at the Sam's Club, I found a set of cameras that were on sale for about a hundred dollars off. I had trouble with the membership app on my phone, so I couldn't access my membership card...so...off to membership services, I went.

The lady at the counter asked me how my day was going and I shared with her that someone stole my porch and now I wanted to buy some cameras.

She listened to my story in disbelief. Not because she didn't believe me, but because how could anyone do that in less than an hour.

She then gave me another 45 dollar discount on top of the sale price just to be nice. I couldn't believe that she did it and I thanked her. She said she just wanted to help out.

I then went to Autozone to buy a trailer ball lock for my trailer. The guy at the counter said, "I think I will give you ten percent off from you purchase today."

I told him thanks because the day I was having was very strange. He asked me how and I told him the story. I must have been giving off a vibe of empathy becasue he gave me a discount before I even told him how my day was going.

When I Got Home, The Good Kept Happening

When I got home I took a picture of the missing porch. I called the guy selling us the house and he told me that part of the payment covers homeowner insurance.

He told me that the porch maybe covered and that he would file with the insurance company to find out.

Crazy Stacked On Crazy ????

Last week I was talking to God and asked how I could afford the deck I wanted to build on our fixer-upper.

This week someone steals our porch and maybe insurance will cover it and I can use that money to build the deck I asked for last week.

If you have read any of the post on my blog, then you understand that I am a huge believer in the Law of Attraction.

It really feels like the law is working for me during this time.

When my wife told me what happened, the first thing I thought...well, after "WHAT THE HECK," was; "what good is going to happen because of this."

Conclusion

I hope that some old lady out there got a new handicap ramp from her son yesterday. I hope that someone took it to sell to feed his or her family or pay some bills during these hard times due to quarantine or something.

It is not fun climbing up to the door, but only good things have happened since the theft and I expect much more good is soon to come.
