You are replacing peace of happiness
Many people think of happiness as a goal, doing something in that direction that will eventually make you feel good or you will be at peace with your life. For me, however, happiness is mostly associated with the highest when something good happens. You feel happy when you get a job or when you find money on the street.
You feel happy when you go on vacation. But often this holiday does not fall as you want or come to the very end, or while you are on vacation thinking about the problems that await you when you return to your home. In all these situations, happiness is temporary. After some time you retreat, and then you often feel unhappy. Because happiness is not peace.
Happiness is actually superficial, while peace is always a deep state. Peace is immune to the polarity of life: high and low, cold and warm, good or evil. That's why peace is so important. Nobody goes through life without experiencing all these experiences, inspirational or disturbing. When someone close to you dies or you have a health problem or you lose something, you are not happy.
Nobody is. But do you have to be in absolute despair? Do you have to feel defeated? If you are in peace, these emotional extremes do not happen. You have the peace of mind that does not affect any situation in the world because you accept and understand everything that is happening in the world.
