Excited by spam
Is it wrong that I got excited by a spam comment on my site?
I didn't look at it as "Oh how obnoxious, a spammer." I looked at it as "Oh look, proof that I actually have viewers. In order for someone to spam me, that means that they were able to find my site!"
It was a truly exciting moment, just like every other comment beforehand. The system works.

Yeah spam always shows up before real people in most cases =) but at least means your content is indexed in the search engines somewhere or the bots wouldn't be able to come find you so well. Im with ya in that I see it as good news, plus sometimes they leave some great ideas for content inadvertently at least for my bootcamp site since they are always promoting some crummy product
You were right, the spammer showed up and then I had seven real commenters!
