Filling in affiliate application forms

I have filled in some forms now but it was also another learning curve for me. Of course the easiest one to join and start using the links and banners was Wealthy Affiliate and the place I bought the domain, namecheap.
Here is what found mind boggling:
- Some forms ask for the website traffic rate information (monthly unique visitors). If a website is as new as mine that becomes tricky. I chose the second lowest option (which is of course not true).
- Details about Tax forms, Tax Identification number, VAT ID etc: In my case, I just had abandon that particular affiliate programme/network and try applying for another one.
- There is a question about how you would promote your website. One of the options is about incentives. I believe the best answer should be NO. Most of the programmes are against making offers and incentives so as to draw traffic to your site.
- They send you details of your account e.g. numbers, code, link, user name, pass word etc. Since you are likely to join more than one, it is advisable to copy save and keep records/files of the different programmes that you join.
- The forms have some lengthy agreements that one is expected to read before accepting the terms. I found that many of the agreements are very similar. It is good to read at least one and get an idea of what is permissible or not (You do not want to be blocked/prohibited). The information in the agreement may also help you to answer some of the questions on the application forms appropriately.
