Beware the follow button
I've been trying to build up my social presence, so I've been following a multitude of people in Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest. I keep getting these messages that people have followed me back, mostly WA people, and that is so very cool.
Also a number of people I didn't follow saw me and followed me. So I try to return the favor and follow them back. So I go down the list of new followers and just start hitting the follow button. Follow, follow, follow, follow. It's so fun, I can't believe I'm getting this much attention.
Then later I click on my Pinterest page, and have one of those sudden OMG moments.
It turns out I blindly followed a page called Naked Beauty. Oh, they are indeed beautiful. They are also very naked. Maybe that would be fine on my laptop, but not so fine on my work computer.
So now I'm hitting unfollow, unfollow, unfollow ...

LOL, I have done pretty much the same thing and have had to unfollow a number of people and pages I did not intend to have. LOL

Yeah, you have to be very careful who you follow on all the social media links.
I have started vetting the links first to make sure that I am not going to get harassed by guys looking for a female in their lives. I was shocked at first by the propositions, but now I just hit the unfollow buttons.
Haha, I followed one on facebook, didn't think about it, but he started to send me pornographic material, OMG!! I unfollowed him right away, another one was going to harash my family. Not ALL followers are indeed WA-ers:)
You do need to pay a little attention on Pinterest. I recently had a similar experience and I honestly had no idea people crated pin boards like that. I guess I shouldn't be surprised but I was.
Ha ha ha. Interesting insight, Gary. Thanks for the heads up, gotta look out on that.
I personally don't like to follow anyone, just the people I want updates from or else I won't be able to use my feed.
