Why Should I Use the Site Content Creator?

I use MS Word. A lot. I am very comfortable with it and I am able to quickly create within it. Usually, after I've created an article in Word, I post it directly to my WP page.
I write about 10,000 words daily for WA, my Ministry, and School. (I'm back in school working toward a higher degree.)
After a recent "Flooding" question, I get the idea that I should be using the WA site content function more. Why? Why not?
