One Month Progress

Well I'm a few days behind on my one month anniversary but I thought I'd document my journey so in the future I can look back and see how I'm progressing...

I need to mention that before I joined WA, I had a blog on wordpress for a year and I wrote posts on there with no SEO knowledge (haha!) and had no idea how to monetise it. I transferred it over to here and gave it a completely new look.

What I have accomplished:

1. I felt very overwhelmed at the beginning, the tech stuff behind running a website is completely new to me and came with many challenges but I feel a lot better about that now. I've finally got my website to look how I want it and made my previous posts keyword friendly. I'm enjoying the learning process and so thankful for the wealth of knowledge that is available here!

2. I am a complete newbie to all this and I found myself having to create a child theme in order to fix something on my site. I have a mac too so this made things a bit more challenging (well, for me anyway!). I attempted this twice and it was only after following two different trainings at the same time (and a whole lot of googling!), I somehow finally succeeded! I felt so proud of myself for managing to do it without deleting my website or something in the process lol!

3. I have four of my posts that are ranking on page 1... This was prior to my SEO knowledge and so I'm hoping now I can get some more please!

4. I joined Amazon Associates as the course suggests but then I realised I don't have much traffic on my site yet - oops. I was concerned about the time limit to make a sale but was pleasantly surprised to see two orders have been made through my link (not direct but a sale's a sale!) This made me a very happy bunny!

5. Last but not least, I have made some great friends here, the community is honestly so amazing and I feel grateful to be part of it. I love how we are all supportive and helpful. So here is a big thank you to all of you who have helped me in my times of need (and an extra thank you to those who were patient enough to deal with my newbieness ;-)!).
