I wouldn't even really consider this a setback, because now that I dipped my feet in the river of affiliate marketing, I am ready to start a new site.

My first site was strictly about dividend investing for beginners, and I made it to 9 articles before realizing that 4 of them were essentially repeating the same things with the words switched around, and I was out of ideas. There is only so much to talk about with a strategy that specific, and simply for beginners.

I know that Wealthy Affiliate stresses to keep a specific niche, but when I work it in my mind the only logical option for me to have consistent, well thought-out, quality posts for a long time is to broaden my niche. I am going to be covering a number of different types of investments through different articles, and will cover different business ideas that I have been interested in. I already have 4 unpublished articles, 1 published article, and about 20 different article ideas that I came up with right off the bat that I can create with no repition and much easier than repeating the same material.

I am trying this method because I see it as the most logical way for me personally to approach affiliate marketing and driving traffic to my blog.

During my first semester at my military college, I was under a lot of pressure and forgot about affiliate marketing, which also distracted me. I need a niche that I can jump into and make articles fairly easily. This second semester won't be as bad, and can certainly find time to pour into making quality investment and business articles.

I will upload a lot of quality articles, and I just need a couple to be successful in order to be satisfied! I expect to upload between 70-90 articles this year. I am spacing them out to upload once every 4-5 days, being realistic. I am hoping that the website will be competitive on Google by 2021.

And if it doesn't work, I'll try a different strategy! That's the point of business. They aren't failures or setbacks, they are simply lessons that you have learned. They give you a different perspective on how to approach it the next time.

Could I get some opinions from my fellow marketers?

You seem to get the idea, Alex--your head is on straight. I have dabbled in many businesses in the past, and while some didn't do very well, I don't consider them a failure--only learning moments which allowed me to continue going forward!

Jeff👍👍

I think this is an awesome idea as you don't need to really start over just improve on what you already have. The idea of having consistent content and trying to better your site by the end of the year is awesome. I would say if you can even put out more posts to your site go ahead and do it. If it's not on the site you can't get traffic. Now I am also talking like I know it all but have only been here a little over a month.
Wishing you all the best with this site in 2020!!!!
Douglas
