Voter Registration Info Exposed!
A security professional recently discovered an unencrypted database on the internet. This database contained the personal information of 191 million registered voters. The database has been taken down since it was discovered in December. No one is taking responsibility, and no one knows how long the information was out there before it was discovered by the researcher. There was no banking or social security info in the database but more information than you should be comfortable with.

It reminds me of the incident that occurred early 2015 when the Office of Personnel Management admitted to being hacked several times and lost the records of over 22 million federal employees and contractors. I don't know if it's the same deal with the voter registration database. The owner could have mistakenly leaked it during an update, or just failed tremendously to follow the proper procedures to lock it down.
Just wanted to keep you guys in the know. I follow this type of stuff, and I just realized that i had not shared it with you. Be careful sharing your personal and financial information (especially online); regularly monitor your bank accounts and credit reports. A lot of organizations are being hacked these days. And not all incidents like these two make it to the front page.
