Dreams
Many years ago, I think around 30, I was in jail for awhile on a DUI ( Bummer!) While I was there in the library I found a poem another inmate had written. It is a great piece of work and I have not found the author yet but it is quite moving to me and I would like to share it here.
Dreams
I, Me, Myself and we. Together we were in my dreams. I is my soul, I would like you to know. Me is my body, what else could it be. Myself is my imagination, we are creativity in action. Manifesting dreams to our satisfaction. Changing the way we are to the way we want to be. I know this is only to be a dream. Me is in bed fast asleep. So Myself is set free in my dreams. Wish me away from the illogical illusions of reality. Wish me away into a world of would-bes. Somewhere there has to be. The grassy place to lay my head and dream. Of the beauty humanity has failed to see. Somewhere there has to be. The burning desire of my heart. I have seen the the waterfall, falling free in the crest of a gentle breeze. Somewhere there has to be, the towering evergreen shading the land, you & me, from the burning sun. I have seen the tear stained face saying to me, there is no such place, it is only a dream. But somewhere, there has to be a Somewhere, a Someone, to care, to share those dreams.
The Author is Joseph F. Ludovici Jr. - written November 13, 1986
I hope Mr. Ludovici continued to write such great poetry but I can't find it on-line.
I wish him well.
