The Power of Positive Affirmations
The Power of Positive Affirmations
Are you struggling with self-doubt creating a new website or starting an online business?
Are you tired of waiting?
Are you ready to make your vision a reality?
The use of positive affirmations is an excellent way to develop self-confidence and self-esteem ... It is totally free and totally easy to do.
Develop self-love, build self-esteem, set yourself up for success and turn those goals into rewarding realities!
Using the power of positive affirmations, you can transition yourself, from "getting by" to "achieving success"
Here is a quick start checklist, read on ...
Uncover the Big Picture
Objectively evaluate where you are and where you want to be. Write it down ... analyze it carefully and set some goals. Uncover in detail, what you have, what you want, and what needs to change, to achieve your goals.
Create a very detailed image of what your vision is, as this will help you to achieve the results you want!
Once you have defined what your main goal looks like, develop a mindset to support your efforts to achieve that goal. Believe in it, create positive thoughts and sayings that confirm your goal.
You may find it necessary to adjust your goals, that is fine, and you will gain confidence as you go.
Now that you have a picture of your success in your mind, the next thing you need to do is believe that change is possible. Before you can gain more happiness, or anything else, you must believe that it is possible for you to make meaningful changes to yourself and your situation.
The more firmly you believe in your ability to achieve your goal, the more likely you are to keep trying!
Turning Possibilities into Probabilities
To increase your probability of success, you will need a well-thought-out action plan. The plan should include a variety of resources, strategies, tools and goals.
Analyze your goals and create a set of smaller, achievable pieces?
Prioritized them by importance, and create a time line of each sub-goal in priority sequence. Assign dates and identify tasks required to achieve each of these smaller goals.
Affirmation/Statement Types
Essentially, affirmations are statements said with confidence about a perceived truth. In this report, the terms affirmations and statements are often interchangeable. However, when referring to the positive statements used to help you make changes, the term “affirmation(s)” is used/preferred.
While affirmations can be either positive or negative statements, we are going to focus on Positive Affirmations only. The reason for this is that negative affirmations can lead to negative thinking, without even being aware of if, and that is the last thing we want at this time.
Positive Affirmation Examples
All changes can be made easier with the use of Positive Affirmations ... It does not matter what you want to change, positive affirmations will create a positive mindset to help you achieve your goals.
There are no quick fixes, so don’t expect any ... It takes time and effort to reprogram your thoughts, beliefs, habits, and parts of your life take time.
When a negative belief is deeply ingrained, it may take longer and more effort than you might expect, to achieve your goal.
Positive affirmations can support and enhance your progress by helping to develop a positive outlook, broaden your opportunities, counteract negative statements, focus on and achieve healthy goals, increase your confidence, see yourself as a beautiful person, change unhealthy behaviors, take control of your life, respect and love yourself, modify your thought patterns, persevere to make progress, motivate yourself to take action, and so much more ...
Affirmation Sources
Affirmations can come from third party sources, or you can develop them yourself.
If you were exposed too much negativity when growing up, you may still internally hear negativity within yourself. In fact, when you make a mistake, you may repeat these negative statements in your self-talk.
It is important to override or reprogram those thought patterns, replacing the negative statements with positive statements and replacing negative, critical feelings with self-love and acceptance.
Even If you grew up in a positive home environment, where acceptance and encouragement were practiced, positive people can be blunt, unguarded, and words can slip out, and cause hurt and discourage those close by.
It is not the frequency of negativity, it is how deeply ingrained it is, that determines the impact. Even a single event, can cause a great deal of damage.
The good news is that with therapy and self-help, the negative effects can be eliminated and replaced with positive thoughts and actions.
You can overcome these feelings, and heal from the inside out, with the use of Positive Affirmations, perhaps enhanced with Hypnotherapy or Counseling.
Positive Affirmations - What are they?
used to make changes and to help you accomplish your goals are simply statements, you believe to be true, which support your plan to achieve your goal.
It is best, when you create your own, personal affirmations, based on your own needs and goals. With careful wording these statements will support your desire for change. It’s very important that you believe what you say.
If you don’t believe a statement is true, don’t use it! The affirmations you create must confirm or reaffirm something positive, about yourself and your situation. It is also important that you learn to accept and respect yourself and remain totally honest with yourself.
Some examples of basic and altered affirmations will give you an idea of what they are.
- I am a successful at business – If you don’t believe that you are successful, state something similar that you do believe such as, “I am learning to build a successful business.”
- I am filled with joy and happiness – If you have difficulty believing this, alter the affirmation to something you believe is true such as, “I am happier when I smile frequently.”
- My work is very satisfying. – If you don’t believe this, try altering it to something similar that you do believe such as, “My work is meaningful to me.”
Writing/Altering Affirmations
Achieving your ultimate goals and making the changes needed depend greatly on your affirmations. It’s important that the affirmations are relevant to your goals and support you in achieving and maintaining your success.
Affirmations should be personal and specific to you, and your goals.
Some tips may help you to develop your own affirmations
- Begin each affirmation with “I” or “My.” This places you as the person talking, the one in charge of what is being said, and makes you accountable
- Write your affirmations in the present tense. Use words like am, is, are, etc. Avoid using future and past tense words
- Don’t begin your affirmations with “I want” or “I need” ... use "I am"
- Make sure your positive statements contribute to achieving your goal
- Include positive feelings such as, “I am excited about meeting interesting people at the conference.”
- Create affirmations that you truly believe are true and achievable. If you don’t believe a statement, change it so it works for you.
- As you write or alter affirmations, use words and phrases that inspire, motivate, and empower you on a personal level.
Using Affirmations Effectively
For the best results, say affirmations at least 2 times a day and as often as you feel the need. The changes and time frame are different for each person and depends on multiple factors, which are specific to you.
Remember, it took a long time to develop your thought patterns and beliefs.
Focus instead on making steady progress, towards your goal. It is not a race, perseverance and dedication will help you to achieve and maintain these changes over the long-term.
With that in mind, implementing a few creative techniques, activities, and ideas can add an element of fun, making the entire experience more beneficial.

Hi Allan,
I read this post with particular interest because I am a residence counselor who works at a group home, and some of my clients suffer from social anxiety. Thus, one of the coping skills I teach them is , as you say, learning to use affirmations affectively to gain more confidence and achieve independence. Excellent and needed post for everyone. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Thabo ... thank you for your feedback! I think that Affirmations have been rejected by many as too easy ... that is really the beauty of them, they are easy ... but also effective! Not a lucrative therapy so many do not even mention it anymore... but I am a believer! :)
Very powerful words!
Thanks for sharing these great examples of positive affirmations to use daily.
Much appreciated,
KyleAnn
Hi KyleAnn ... so glad you found it interesting ... an easy trick to get your mind reprogrammed .. works wonders!
I almost missed this article.
I mean, I have seen it, then copied&pasted; to the word document as I am in the office, so I can read it without drawing the attention of colleagues..
Then I forgot about it for a while...
Later I have printed out and now I am reading it.
It is very powerful and I am so glad I did not miss it:)
I intend to read it whenever I feel down
Thank you Allan
Mike
You are very welcome ... glad you find it helpful ... even small things can make a tremendous difference! All the best to you ...
Positive affirmations do work if you believe they will. There are those who don't believe and they are less likely to repeat the affirmations nd get into the right mode.

I tell people, not to get caught up in worrying if it works ... just doing it will be beneficial even if you don't "believe" ... our lives are filled with so much negative news and events! A bit of positiveness goes a long way to relieving some of that stress.
If a child was born negative it would not try to crawl then walk and talk.
They only learn how to be negative from those around them.
A few of my hundred quotes.
“Negative People never go the Extra Mile so you will find it will not be crowed for those who are positives.” Tom Short.
“You cannot delegate your self-transformation.” Tom Short.
“All things are possible when you work the impossible.” Tom Short.

I hope it is helpful ... even a few very focussed affirmations can make the difference between an "alright day" and an "amazing day" ... create a few that are meaningful to you personally ... the results are amazing! The law of attraction is based on the positivity of thought!
