How to Capture E-mails without an Ebook

This trick is through Sumo so feel free to add this great plugin to your website.

My posts tend to be very long (and take me far too long). So I just never get around to creating an Ebook to capture visitor's e-mails.

With Sumo's List Builder you can use the content you've already written by turning this post into a PDF and offering it to visitors. They sign up with their e-mail for the PDF - easy!

1. Choose a post on your blog that is very long and very informative and has a lot of views.
2. Turn this post into a PDF.
2. Create a page on your website that is not part of any menu and attach the PDF with a welcome note thanking them for downloading the PDF etc. Might be best at this stage to say "we'll send you our awesome newsletter too" (so you're not spamming) Add links to other posts so they're tempted to keep reading.
2. Go to Listbuilder on Sumo and under Design say something like: "Don't have time to read this now - get the PDF straight to your inbox and read later.
3. Choose Inline Form Type (you can place this a paragraph or so down the page), Visibility manual (you can then place the HTML on the actual post so it doesn't show up on every post).
4. Go through each stage and set it up as you like
5. Under Success: 'Redirect the User to this URL' (that's the page where you placed the PDF).
Then test it all to make sure it works!

It isn't too tricky to set up although it sounds tricky.
