How to find a tag id of a post or page

Hello Everyone,

I struggled to identify the "tag id" of each of my posts or pages. The theme I use didn't make it easy.

I needed the tag id to enhance the appearance on my website by filtering off unwanted pages within the widget area to the right of the website. If you don't want the posts displayed under categories within the widget area, create posts within pages and then identify what page is displayed or excluded under the widget area. It's a great way to organize what posts are displayed under specific categories of interest.

The research I did identified that the tag id is usually the number at the tail end of the URL of the post or page. However, my theme didn't expose this. Instead of id number, I only saw texts.

I couldn't find relevant blogs or posts here at WA so I went to say hello to our very famous friend "Google".

To save anyone else the time it took me to monkey around on this, I figured I share the plugin I found that worked beautifully.

Plugin name: "Reveal IDs"

You simply search for it within WordPress. Like any other plugin, install and activate it.

Once activated, you'll see the tag id of each page or post displayed together with all their other properties. Note: Once you click on the "post" or "page" category on the left of the Site Dashboard, you'll see the properties, which will also include the tag id.
