Watch the word use "work hard on yourself and not work hard for yourself". The majority of people are working hard for themselves, especially in our present economy. You work hard just to keep your job. It is easier to work hard for yourself because you have no choice. You need an income for sustenance, like most hardworking people once they have finished their job, they go back and watch TV. (Homer Simpson)

Working hard on yourself is investing in learning, spending the time to think and analyze your thoughts daily. Even in a job you can still work hard on yourself by being more observant. Finding the best way to improve yourself through courses and training. This is not an easy task as compared to working hard for yourself.

Most people are not willing to pay for training and seminar. Why is this so? One is that they cannot see the benefit of the improving themselves because they so used to their comfort zone, and secondly, you need to work on it otherwise, you will regret to have wasted your money. I was one with this herd thinking.

My first training was a seminar I attended "Starting a business with no or little money." The course introduced me to having a right mindset on business and entrepreneurship. In the course, I learned what was like to move out of my comfort zone, that was an eye-opener because I did not know comfort zone existed to make us mediocre. I did not go into business after that and felt I have wasted $2000. I stopped attending seminars especially those that I needed to pay. The training did not give an immediate result, but it had ingrained in me the ability to see my life as mediocre and that I had to move out of my comfort zone. With a little push from an unhappy work environment. I began to look at investing in myself again. I worked hard on learning about mindset and invest in business training that I could afford.

I now have a business on e-commerce selling physical product. I bought and read books on selling and sales to understand sales and marketing to change my negative perception of sale. I signed up for courses at Udemy on Writing, as I need to blog.

Investing in yourself is never a waste of time and money, all the great guru still invest heavily in training themselves even they are already at the top.
