A new Year

Two more days and it will be the year of the Monkey in the Chinese calendar. Ethnic Chinese will be celebrating the Lunar New Year all over the world; Children will get their red packets (红包 pronounce as HongBao) with money from their parent and relatives. I will have a grand reunion dinner with my family tomorrow which is the New Year Eve.
In the old days, firecrackers liven up the streets. Now firecrackers are banned in my country because of safety reasons. Lion and dragon dance gongs and drum still thunders through the air for 15 days. Many companies and offices, after the two days public holiday, will hire a lion dance troupe to usher the start of the new year to signify business prosperity.
