Time to grow up and treat your business like a real business
TREAT YOUR BUSINESS LIKE A BUSINESS AND OTHER PEOPLE WILL TREAT YOUR BUSINESS LIKE A BUSINESS
I remember the day I started my first business. It was in the winter of 2008. I had been driving around with my snow blower digging people out of their driveways for a few extra bucks. At the end of a few major snowstorms I had saved up $1000. I had planned to buy a bunch of new camping gear with it and I was pretty excited. But, a busy opportunity presented itself and I needed about $900 to get it started. I thought long and hard about it. I had never invested money into a business before. Everything I ever earned I used to pay bills or to play. I remember the transaction vividly, I made an investment. Once I did it and realized that the world didn’t come crashing down, my next investment became easier, and so on. Now it’s a daily thing for me to spend money on business needs. The trick to spending your money wisely is to understand your trade and determine what tools you need and what tools you don’t.
