Mother and Daughter : The Important Life Lessons in Life.

Since she turned 3 I have been thinking what are the most important things that a child should learn as they grow up or before they leave home? I thought academics was the most important thing. No it is not actually it comes down way far the list and these are things schools will never teach unless you are lucky and the school your child goes too has included the in their curriculum.

To me they are

- Financial Education: We are only told work hard at school, get a job and the save some of your salary. Nobody teaches us how to make money work for us. If we are lucky we learn it at a later stage or somebody will talk about it. Then off we go and research about it.

- Relationships: The relationship of girl meets boy or boy meets girl in school is taken into the real world. The same character and mentality is put into it as adults we still behave like we are in high school dating. May be that is why our relationships have issues. May be we didn’t have good role models at home. One day I asked my mum why you didn’t tell me about girl and boy relationship oh well. So I told her I am reading about it. Browsing the young adult one and finding the Adult taught me things that my parents were not able to do. Hence relationships is an important education.

- Self-defence or karate; Fact is we are not with our kids all the time. We hope that nothing bad happens to them. Geez you can call that praying mum and do I pray. I believe karate will teach her to observe her surroundings and learn more. So today I registered both of us for our first Karate or dojo class. I wish I had done Karate or dojo when I was her age. By the time she starts her first class she will be four years old. Looking forward to all that we are going to learn.

As for relationship she is learning something small day by day and one day we will have a sit down and talk about relationships all the way. For now she is learning to say NO at thing that we believe she has to say NO to.
