Major reduction of website related goals
My last blog post here at WA was on May 10. At that time I had hoped to write at least 12 more posts by the end of June. I will not meet that goal.
On May 16, I took my husband to the ER, where a CT scan revealed a mass on the left side of his brain. On May 17, an MRI showed it was a brain tumor roughly 5cm x 6cm. On May 18, he had brain surgery to remove the majority of the tumor. On May 20th, the pathology report indicated his tumor was an aggressive brain cancer called Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM).
On June 14, he started radiation (scheduled for 5x per week, for the following 33 weekdays) and a chemo pill (every day for 49 straight days) to try to neutralize the remainder of the cancer cells. His last day of radiation will be July 21st. His last day of the daily chemo pill is August 1st. Our fourth child is due July 31st.
My new goal is to write one post by the end of June and to promote my blog posts that I have already written on my social media. I really like the work that I have started on my website, so I hope to make the time for just one post this month. I now know a lot more about brain cancer than I did a month ago, so likely it will be a related topic.
