Yesterday I took the plunge on the PREMIUM membership. I've only been signed up as a Starter member here for a few weeks, but going PREMIUM was an easy decision to make. And here's why..

Everything Under One Roof

Immediately when I joined as a Starter member I could see this website was different. Everything is under one roof, so to speak. That's a real joy to see.

The Internet has grown a ton over the last few decades. The problem these days, in my opinion, is there's TOO MUCH information out there. It's hard finding legit courses, forums or communities to help you learn and grow.. unless you've got someone you can trust to tell you what's good and worthwhile. But, finding those people, or those blogs is difficult in and of itself. Instead, you're bound to burn a ton of time trying to find answers and sort through all the junk yourself. Been there, done that.

Just poking around a bit as a Starter member at WA, without being able to see everything or really understand how some things worked (like the SiteComments, SiteFeedback, etc), I saw HUGE value to this website / community.

Now that I'm a PREMIUM member and have access to the rest of the features, I'm definitely excited!

Like-Minded Individuals

It's huge for me right now to be around like-minded individuals. That was a selling point for WA. If you aren't hanging out with like-minded people, then you can't grow.

An artist hanging out with another artist is going to feel inspired, creative, focused. Both artists will likely grow ten-fold, learning from each other or developing new styles of art. Contrast this with an artist hanging out with a mathematician. What chance does the mathematician have in desiring creative pursuits, and what chance does the artist have in wanting to solve math problems?

Ever get that "Outer Space" look from family members, relatives or even your spouse when talking about online income opportunities? People who think everything's a scam? Well, yeah, there's lots of scams out there, but there's also lots of people making money in pretty unique ways online nowadays too.

Surrounding yourself with people that have been there before, who perservered and succeeded in exactly what you're looking to do, is critical for success. It keeps you motivated and focused on what you're pursuing. Plus it makes it a lot easier to brush off comments from the non-believers! I'm very happy to see a community of like-minded folks at WA!

Comparing To What Else Is Out There

Last year marks the first year I ever tried any online courses / training programs. I'd probably have tried some courses sooner, except most of them looked like a scam -- think late 90s or early 2000s text-filled pages with count-down timers and sales pitches, telling you how rich you'd be after buying the info product or course. Suffice to say, I've always been a bit leery throwing my money at virtual courses or info products.

I don't have A LOT to compare WA to, but I'm already aware that most of what's out there isn't very well done or doesn't have an integrated community like WA to make it worthwhile long-term.

I signed up for a $30/mo Internet Marketing course last year that was filled with content. The problem? It was all audio/video about 40-60 minutes each and created by guys that had done podcasts for years. Podcasting is great. Videos are great. But NOT when you're filling them up with stories and back-and-forth banter, ultimately making it difficult to wade through it all to get to the meat & potatoes of the lesson. I believe the training here at WA will be more substance and less filler, which will make it easier to hit the ground running.

Another course I had bought for $400 (lifetime) was decent, not at all related to Internet Marketing, just a niche online business. The lessons were well done, you could mark your progress and it was a combination of video / text based info. But one major gripe I had was a "private community" was mentioned where you could form a mastermind with others -- and once I had access to the website, I saw very little activity on the forum. Again, this is where WA looks a lot different.. huge community, lots of activity!

So far.. from what I see at Wealthy Affiliate, I'm happy to have made the purchase! Looks like a ton of value & lots of community engagement . I'm looking forward to being a member here!

Woohoo! My first blog post at WA :) Milestone achieved!
