How Does Making Pasta Sauce Compare To Affiliate Marketing?
While away in Italy, I was able to eat some delicious pasta. It was so good that I questioned how one can make something so tasty and I received a simple reply…
“Take your time! Put it all together, turn the heat on low, and just let it simmer. Go have a beer outside. Enjoy the sun and get some air. After some hours, it is ready. Then, and only then, will the flavor be just right and people will love it.”
So I sat their thinking about such an answer and couldn’t help but wonder how that related to someone doing affiliate marketing. Crazy thought eh? I mean, what in the hell does pasta sauce have anything to do with affiliate marketing. Well, let me tell you. The similarities are actually quite interesting and funny.
As has been highly suggested, pasta sauce should be very slow cooked over a period of hours. Why? Well, the reason has to do with time. With enough time, the flavor improves. Just like some dishes just taste better the next day when they have a chance to sit overnight. It just is that way. We all know exactly what I mean too! When sauce is rushed too fast, while it is edible, does not have the same quality taste as when it has the chance to “stew” for some period of time. Yes, it is pasta sauce and will taste decent. But, why settle for decent when you can have something great? Take your time with it and get much better results.
Similarly, I compare this to affiliate marketing. Some people are in a situation where they want to make a quick buck. Out for the fast cash. They rush out and do anything and everything they can to earn some money online. They will spam the hell out of everywhere with links to various products or services. While they may make some progress, it just does not sit right with many people and the person may not do well with earning money. They could even get to a point where they just give up due to the poor results. Instead, maybe they would have better results by slowly cooking that recipe. Find a product or service and make a plan. Do research into what works and get to know the target audience rather than spamming it all over the place in the hope that someone might have an appetite enough to take a bite. With proper research and a well thought out strategy, that recipe will more than likely be much more appealing to the consumer. Chances are higher that more sales will be made because the sauce tastes so good. Additionally, an effective advertising strategy sets a positive tone and creates a good atmosphere for others to also come on by to taste that recipe. The customer base will slowly and steadily grow over time, increasing your profits. Frustration will probably not set in and keep you motivated because your wallet is becoming fatter and fatter.
* Place all the ingredients in a slow cooker and let that total greatness cook for half the day. Oh boy!!

* Place all the ingredients in that “slow cooker”” and focus on putting out incredible content. Oh boy!!

You're an excellent writer, and I loved the 'pasta sauce' analogy. It was 'spot-on'! Best continued success to you here in WA, Glen!!
Jeff
Thank you much. I had a good time writing it while taste testing my own slow cooked sauce. I couldn't pass up that chance.
I like the article and how you spun it like a review but in conversational speech. Anyways, good luck here!
Yes. That was my plan. I wanted to generate thought and garner interaction with everyone. I like meeting new people.
And who doesn't love a great from scratch pasta sauce. They take time and love. Grate post! Christine
Oh you know it!!! I of course had to taste test that recipe while writing that post. The craziest thing I found out when I had a "squirrel" moment was that cows have 4 stomachs. Did you know that? I am jealous of them. I'd love 4 stomachs so I can eat even more Italian food... my weakness!! HAHA!
Now that the topic is Italian food... the best pizza in the world is at a place in Naples.... https://damicheleusa.com/
Although they only have two pizza options, you absolutely will not be disappointed.... once you get through the 2 hour wait to eat there. Think I'm kidding? Go there and find out for yourself. 8-)
But still... your belly will love you forever!
