The Changes That Help Us To Fly Again:

When we are children we can play pretend and become who and what ever we can imagine.

As we grow we face a variety of challenges and obstacles. We will find successes and failures along the way and somehow things begin to look and feel more and more different. Where we could once be our own superheroes flying throw the air to save the day, all of a sudden we start to get very grounded as our own trials and experiences leave doubtful and afraid of the risks we would once take without thought.

So how can we face the challenges and obstacles that day to day life brings and still somehow bring back the freedom to open the doors to imagination and the ability to fly again? This is what I will be discussing in The changes that help us to fly again. I will be breaking down how we can take on new challenges, making new commitments, change our frame of mind and how in doing all this, we can find our wings again. Now let’s start off with taking on new challenges.

Taking On New Challenges:

When you become frozen due to self-doubt or fear of the unknown, how do you bring yourself to the point of building up the courage to take on new challenges and commitments. What does it take?

  1. It takes time: You should not try to force yourself to take on new challenges or commitment before you are completely ready to do so. To force yourself before you are completely ready will only set you up in most cases for failure.
  2. A new frame of mind: To have a new frame of mind will allow you to see with a new perspective and with new perspective you are much more likely to handle the bumps in the road that you will likely face along the way.
  3. A clear plan: Once you have made up your mind to take on your new challenges or commitment you need to have a clear plan and understanding as to what you want to achieve. To have your clear plan and understanding will be the first of several steps that you will take to set you up for success.

With these three ingredients, you will be taking the first of many steps toward opening the floodgates to your creative juices and to finding your wings.

Following Through:

So you have decided to jump in, you have your plan and a new frame of mind. I have a question for you, will your new frame of mind give you the perserverance to pull you through those hard times? I hope so because you will face hard times, we all do. Something you likely already know but should always remember is if it comes easily then it will go easily. Many people will jump into a commitment thinking they have thought through all the details. In most cases, you will do just that, however, be sure not to forget the backup plan.

The backup plan is a plan that has to be in place for the “what if “ scenario, something that will catch you or keep you on your feet (when thing do not go according to plan) until you can pull through this particular problem or issue. This is a key to follow through. Follow through is very important. Why? I can hear you asking. Simple, without follow through you will not gain trust from yourself or others, without trust you will not fly, a matter fact you will only succeed at cutting off the very wings you are trying to find again.

One of the things that happen when you face failure after failure in your life is that you lose trust first with others and then more importantly with yourself. To regain the trust you have lost will be vital to becoming capable of finding confidence and with confidence, you will not just find your wings you will soar with them.

Something that you should remember along the way is any commitment you make should be taken seriously and be prepared to follow through. The only way to find success is to follow through. Following through will be the hardest part of any commitment but without this ingredient, you will not find the reward at the end of your rainbow and we all want the rainbow, Right?

The Right Frame Of Mind:

We have gone over what it takes to put yourself into the position to begin the journey to reclaiming your wings and we have found all the ingredients to make it possible. Out of all the things we have covered having the right frame of mind is one of the most important steps.

So let me ask you, how can you find a new perspective aka a new frame of mind?

There are several ways to begin this journey to real change. Let me point out that this will be in most cases a difficult step for anyone to take. To achieve this step you will have to break old patterns of thinking along with many of your habits. If however you really want to find success this will be an important step to take and a step that will prove to be very beneficial.

The first step you should take is to get all the crap out of your life. What I mean by crap is anything in your life that tear you down in any way. To make the commitment to find your wings it has to become the highest of priorities to surround yourself with things and people that build you up and the only way you can do this is if you get the crap out first.

The second step will be to start growing from a positive perspective. The best way to begin this step is to start reading books or watching YouTube videos from anyone one of the positive coaches out there. One of the most renowned and well-known speakers out there is, of course, Tony Robbins you also have Les Brown, Joel Osteen, Jay Shetty, Tom Bilyeu and many others. Anyone of these speakers will help you to

gain the new perspective and even better they will leave you with inspiration and a new-found motivation to achieve just about anything you are willing to achieve.

The third step comes in your ability to motivate and build yourself up. You will not likely have much of a support system in place while you are weeded the crap out of your life so you will have to rely on yourself to fill this gap at first. You will find the better you get at this the less you will require a support system although It is a good idea to have a support system anyway.

Which brings me to the final step of a positive perspective mindset change. Step four is to have a support system of people who truly care about you, people who want your success for you as much as you do, people who will build you up. These people may not need to be around all the time or even a part of the time but they will be there when you need them and they will support you in every way they can.

With each of these things intact, you will have a mindset that will not be broken easily and it will allow your spirit to be unstoppable. You will have the stuff you will need to find those wings and simply soar.

So You Found your Wings:

How long will you fly with them? It is well-known to anyone out there that has researched or read anything on finding success that the average percentage of people that find success at all is about 1%. Out of that 1% of people, only about 1% of those people will have continued success for the remainder of their lives despite any problems that may arise. So again I ask, How long will you fly?

To find a lasting change in your life you won’t just change your mindset you will also have to change the rules of your life. The ideas that once said it was okay to give up, to stop trying, to walk away when things get tough just simply put have to be gone. In Tony’s own words “ You have to burn the boats.” That mindset just will not do anymore.

When you put all these ingredients together with this absolute mindset of the way you will live and handle your life you will have regained your wing and learned what it will take to soar.

Now You Have Learned To Sore:

The final steps to all this are

  1. Maintained the changes you have made. As I have already started to make a life change is all good but it will mean little if you do not maintain the changes you have made. Life has a funny way of pulling you back into the crap when you are not paying attention. So never stop paying attention.
  2. Do not stop learning and evolving into the best version of yourself. I firmly believe that if you are not moving forward you're moving backward. Many people will tell you they are stuck and that may be true but life only allows us to be stuck for so long. If you fail to make a choice to move forward in a certain amount of time you will move backward, that is just the way of things.
  3. Share with others. Anyone with long-lasting success will tell you. Once you have found your success if you have not already begun to share your knowledge or success with others it will be very important that you begin this process of giving back what you have taken. Many will call it paying it forward, some might say sharing or teaching with others. Whatever you wish to call it I hope that you find a way to do it. Just like you needed help there are so many who follow behind you that will need what you have to offer. Please give them what they need and once again become the hero you once were.

Final Thoughts:

Learning to sore after you have lost your wings and excepted that life is just the way it is can be very challenging. In many cases, it will prove to be too much for someone to willingly take the time to give the effort to find their wings let alone learning how to fly again. If however, you have come to a point in your life that enough is enough then it is well worth your effort to take each of these steps and start a journey that will reshape the way you see, feel, work and play.

These steps are the steps of people who want to be the hero in their own story. They want to start by saving their own lives so that they can save other people's lives down the road. We all have this will and this level of determination within us the question is will you use it? I hope for your sake and the sake of the countless others that you will impact down the road that you do, I believe we are all worth the effort to at least try to make ourselves and lives everything we want them to be.
