What Can We Quote on a WA blog?
I just tried to publish a blog post here but could not. I quoted one paragraph from a Slashdot-org article and WA would not let me publish it.
Here is a link if you're interested in this topic.
Sorry, I had to remove the link. Doesn't make sense. It wasn't posted to evoke anything controversial in comments or result in one of those super long threads.

An interesting read, surprising as well given the legal status of corporations as people under the law.
I find it a shame that your post was nerfed, as it is definitely something that should be of interest to this community.
I wonder since it allowed you to post the link here if you could rewrite a post on it not quoting but paraphrasing this important ruling.
There is so much chatter here about using AI, in fact I just came here from someone asking about creating external links from Medium using AI (which I counseled against).
I think there will be a lot of upset authors unaware of this ruling who find they have no legal recourse.
I also believe there is cause for concern for legitimate authors whose work is mislabeled as AI, which I've also read of happening with some of the AI detection tools.
Great find, and appreciate your bringing it as best as you could to the communities attention.

Jason
Unfortunately I have to now remove the link, according to WA rules, or someone's interpretation of. So no more info here.
Please have a read of the Official Posting rules at WA. You need to remove the link within your blog post - thank you for your cooperation. Official Posting Rules at Wealthy Affiliate
Hi that's not what I ment by keeping the community clean.
Once discussions start to turn political, religious, promoting outside links etc , things can get out of hand pretty quickly. Then we loose focus on why we're all here. Rules are good 🙂

It's not political - it's simply information. I see plenty of outside links in WA blog posts. We're all here to learn and with this fast moving topic not all the info is provided on WA.
Sorry that they removed your link. It probably relates to number 9
No incomplete content. Do not post content where your readers are required to go to an external website to "read more" or "watch". All the content must be self-contained within the post itself.

I have read many, dozens of posts here with links taking you away to more information. Maybe a hundred. And I removed the link myself. The paragraph I quoted, that I could not publish would have made the opst complete. So damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Haven't really noticed. Maybe something to be asked to management to get clarification.
Cheers

Thank you for this information.
I posted yesterday a short list of plagiarism-detecting sites used to confirm human or AI-generated text. As an artist, I am glad to learn AI-generated illustrations will not be considered for copywriting. Google already considers AI-generated text as being against their policy and is able to detect the use of it on websites. I'm sure the ability will be improved over time.
AI is really shifting a lot away from original creation, though I do see its benefit in some circumstances such as medical reference, customer service, law enforcement, et.al.
